And that 2018/19 season was our doom.
Look how Allegri started the season. He won the league by New Year. Yet, Marotta left soon after the season began and Allegri was fired at the end of that season.

We thought that the league will be in the bag no matter what and that we needed changes in order to win the CL.
I felt that Juventus was never quite the same team again after the Man United loss (at home on November 6). And you’re right, we were dismal for the rest of that league season, with Allegri eventually getting sacked and then the Sarri-Covid season being the true beginning of the end.

So we are 4pts behind 4th place..with a game more played. Essentially 7pts behind.

Yea we fucked. Conference League incoming.

Yeah…not looking good nearly halfway through the season. If we are to make 4th (yay another low ambition season) it’s going to be an immense struggle like the Pirlo season.

Fiorentina and Lazio are travelling at an unusual high pace. Let's just hope they slow down because we have no chance at all of catching them if they keep this up.

The only hope is that Motta can finally get it together in the second half of the season. Bologna fans said things didn’t really get going until then. But might me too late at that point if we keep drawing.

okay it wasn't motta who threw/kicked the ball at the ref. i'm kinda disappointed now

Quite disappointing indeed, i was actually even asking for more patience in regards to his tenure here due to interpreting that gesture as a sign that he really cares and isn’t willing to accept how biased the refereeing was against us, therefore had that uncontrolled gesture which got him red carded…

So what was Motta sent off for than? I guess verbal abuse towards the refs seems the most likely, which would mean he still didn’t hold back from showing his anger and discontent towards that piece of shit.

Lazio & Fiorentina will almost certainly slow down. But on the other hand, Milan will probably improve as time goes on.

Right now, I'd say it's between us & those 3 to get that vital 4th spot.
If I was a betting man, I wouldn't put my money on us.

It really looked like Motta was the guy and that Giuntoli was the guy. For that matter it looked like Vlahovic, Chiesa, Koopmeiners and whoever else were the right guys.

I'm starting to think selling is the only thing to do. That or a proper actual clear out of upper management because it doesn't seem to matter who we bring in the result is always the same. Therefore look at what's not been changed and get rid of it.

Thiago Motta tactics

Juventus’ recent string of draws has raised concerns about the team’s performance under manager Thiago Motta. The Bianconeri, while maintaining their unbeaten record in Serie A, have dropped crucial points in their Scudetto pursuit with three consecutive league draws.

Calciomercato report how critics are now questioning Motta’s tactical approach, suggesting that his rigid schemes may be stifling the players’ creativity and decision-making on the field. During the 2-2 draw with Bologna, commentator Valon Behrami observed that Juventus players seemed more focused on executing pre-planned tactics rather than adapting to in-game situations with flair and imagination.

Two incidents have particularly drawn attention:

1. In the closing minutes against Bologna, with Juventus trailing 2-1, Koopmeiners and Yildiz opted for a short corner and played the ball back to midfield, despite having teammates positioned in the box for a potential cross.

2. Earlier in the match, Danilo chose to throw a lateral 60 meters backwards to goalkeeper Perin, despite Juventus being in an attacking position in the opponent’s final third.

These examples have led to questions about the balance between tactical discipline and individual player freedom in Motta’s system. While some players, like Francisco Conceicao, occasionally attempt to break from the rigid structure, there’s a growing debate about where individual creativity ends and tactical obligations begin in this Juventus side.

The situation draws parallels to the age-old football debate between coaches who prioritize their tactical philosophy regardless of personnel (like Arrigo Sacchi) and those who adapt their approach to suit their players and opponents (exemplified by Carlo Ancelotti and Marcello Lippi).

Regardless of philosophical debates, the results on the pitch show a Juventus team underperforming relative to its potential, even accounting for injuries. As the team struggles to secure victories, the pressure mounts on both Motta and his players to find solutions and break out of this tactical impasse.

Tachinnardi says he doesn’t see improvements, was enthusiastic at the start of the season but now not so much, a lot of predictable and slow possession of the ball without actually moving the ball forward to create opportunities, mentioning that we need to be more brave in our approach, only praised a bit the overall defensive solidity…

After that is seems he took a line from Allegri’s book saying something like there are coaches who win scudetto, there are others who are good at saving teams from relegation while others that can take a team to european places but not go above that, basically without implying that Motta necessarily falls in one of this categories but that he sure needs to drastically improve, and then used Simone Inzaghi as an example of someone who adapted and learned from his mistakes after a difficult start to then become a scudetto winner.

Agree about Lazio Fiorentina and Milan but I do not think the competition for the 4th spot will be between these teams.
Lazio might make it look like they are fighting for it but will fail.
Fiorentina will probably go away in a few rounds
Milan will indeed look better and thats why we must improve right away. There are points we must take but in order for that to happen we must send more players into the area.

I believe this more than anything else. I see a lot of similarities with Brazil. Just hiring coach after coach and all fail to make a very good or at the very least a good enough squad perform as well as it should. Something’s rotten within the club.

It feels like we’ve been stuck in a loop of transitional seasons for how many years now? It can’t be just the coaches and players. Look at how the moment Ferguson left United was never the same again, no matter which players they got or how much money they spent.

I don’t have a solution but maybe new owners and a brand new management team could be the answer.
