1. Sorry for that sick link, I also felt that way. I don't intend to generalize at all, my point is there are things in Chinese culture that I could never imagine of.

2. Sorry for my English that could make you guys get me wrong sometimes.
Yeah but eating babies is not part of Chinese culture. China has a messed up government and they might be backwards but to say that eating babies is in their culture is a bit extreme. I just don't get how you can make that statement and not see that it is fake. I've actually done research even more on those pics and have found out that they are fake and made for "art" and not what I said earlier of them being aborted babies and stillborns. That is clear propaganda made to show why China is so horrible. If that guy really ate a fetus to make his "extreme art" documentary it still would not make a valid argument to say that China eats babies! It's like saying someone killed his whole family in New York and then saying everyone in New York kills their own families its in their culture!

There are parts of everyone's culture that we cannot understand and never imagine. Vietnamese eat dogs. I don't get that and I am sickened by that part of your culture since I own a dog but that is your culture. (They eat dogs in China as well) I respect that as long as you don't eat my dog. I have nothing against the Vietnamese or Vietnam. I just don't think Chinese people eat babies. I have a hard time understanding that people actually believe that.

I'm sorry if I keep repeating myself I just am extremely outraged by someone telling me that people eat newborn babies and making a gross assumption by saying its Chinese culture.

Oh and your English is fine.

If some people in China eat newborn babies, which makes sense considering the poor areas in the nation and necessity for survival, it actually does make it part of their culture. If it's something that many citizens do, whether it be a certain geographical region or certain ethnic group, that means it's part of their culture.

It has nothing to do with the poorer regions. I did research on this because I was sickened by it.The pictures he posted is from a documentary made by an extreme artist. He supposedly ate aborted fetuses and stillborns. ONLY THE ARTIST ATE IT therefore an invalid argument. He was doing it to document the "art" he was making. Only ONE Chinese person ate it. So it does not make it part of their culture.

Wouldn't be surprised if others did it, but fair enough.

I would like to thank dao_nq for giving his opinion on this matter. I'd take the Vietnamese over the Chinese any day.

And the pictures seen in this thread, especially the link to the baby soup, literally almost made me vomit earlier. Such disgusting things like that are not what you want to look at while being hungover. It really does seem like the Chinese culture is fucked up.
Despite all the handlers and international consultants in on the Games, and as I've been saying for years now, I am still fully expecting a great "what planet are you from?" moment for the rest of the world at the Games ... a la the 2000 Beijing Games proposal that promised the IOC they would eradicate all houseflies in Beijing by the year 2000.

I don't want that prick anywhere near it. Knowing China, they'll cut it off, wrap it in bamboo shoots, douse it with a little soy sauce, and eat it.

You haven't heard that from me before? As much as we can make stuff up, that's one example where reality is too frigging strange to compete with.

The truth about the Beijing Olympics is that my China Wok didn't cook my cat all the way through last night, thus making me sick today.
Speaking of which, I believe the Beijing 2000 proposal to the IOC had a measure in there also about eradicating packs of stray dogs -- another piece of their 2000 Games proposal that I am not making up.

Cats couldn't have been far behind...

Yea, I knew that, and if I recall correctly, the proposal entailed many "military peace keepers" walking around with Poor-men's Louisville Sluggers and thwapping dogs on the head until dead.

1. Vietnamese people eat dogs. It's true, but dogs at least are animals. And if you watch Discovery Channel Travel and Living, "Bizarre Foods" you can see people eat worms, and many odd things that I think are far stranger than eating dogs. Additionally, we eat only dogs that are raised to be eaten, we don't eat pets as you think. By the way, there are a lot of Western people, especially Russians like to eat dog meat too:spliff: Korean and Chinese also eat dog meat, I think it's understandable.

2. The point I made about eating babies may have weak evidence. So I must eat humble pie. However, there was once I asked an English man, actually he's my English teacher, and he said he also heard of this. Ok, if I have a strong evidence, I will go back to this later.

3. Sorry for making you feel like I'm an extreme person who like to make gross assumption. I didn't mean to imply this, I just gave out a wrong example. I'm sorry, once again.

1. I know lots of cultures eat dogs and you don't eat pets :p I just was pointing out there are things in everyones culture that other cultures do not understand. Eating dog meat to me is not understandable and I don't really hold Russia in high regard towards their food so I really don't think eating dog is normal but it is normal to you.

2. Yeah it is a rumor which is why a lot of people have heard of it but that is purely anti-Chinese propaganda. I just have a hard time believing that Chinese people eat babies on the regular.

3. It's fine. I just was put off by the whole fact of eating babies. Nothing personal against you. I'm sorry if I overreacted. I just was so appalled by the whole thing probably because I clicked the link.

besides we all know its only in Scotland that we eat babies, this is my uncle he is a celebrity and high chief at the annual baby games. first we toss the babies like a hammer-toss,makes the baby nice and tender, then place the baby on a large filed and toss a large skewer at it (many believe this is where the javelin comes from) then finally we have teh baby-shake (and bake)competition. my uncle is world champion in all fields and had a special action figure commissioned in his honour
