The truth about the Beijing Olympics is that kite running is not an official event and Michael Burke will be left with the stench of the slanted eyed folk for months on end thereafter

Maybe I'm not the only Vietnamese guy in this forum. But through all the pages, I didn't see any guy showed up. Why the hell on earth when people talk about China and we - Vietnamese don't say a word ??

First, I would like to ask: what do you think about Vietnamese people in general? I'm not a nationalist and I just want to know the learn from you guys. Yes, I admit Vietnam is a backward country.

These are the facts:

1. We're the one the closest neighbor to China for long long time and there is one thing our ancestors said is to be careful, China is always our greatest threat; they have always tried to invade our country since the ancient time. But ironically, our fucking government still says things like the "Northern Brother" (means The Chinese Communist Party). And they tried to invade us in 1979, haha :inter:

2. Despite the fact that our culture is so influenced by Chinese, we still are so different to them. For example, we don't do women trafficking (they abduct Vietnamese women and children and sell them to China). We don't eat newborn babies (http://forum.bennhac.com/showthread.php?t=776). We are not crazy nationalists like them, we want to be honest about ourselves.

I think I don't have to say any more

hey swag, I will tell how ridiculous your post is from my angle
...
you can see how qiuck the government react this time in earthquake of Sichuan. just 10 mins after the earthquake, the official media of Chinese government notice everyone of the country what has happend. and 3 hours later the PM Wen flied to the hot spot. How long it take bush to pay a visit to new orland?
Perhaps you didn't understand the context of what I wrote. I was saying I was quite pleasantly surprised with how things in Sichuan were being handled. The question now is if this kind of openness is going to lead Chinese leaders to worry about Soviet glasnost ... and hence another episode of Chinese citizens being flattened by tanks in Tienanmen Square to prevent dissidents.

And Bush was a complete incompetent f*cktard when it came to the aid of New Orleans. It really put local and national planning there bordering something we're seeing in Myanmar as much as anything else. But the point was about coverage and reporting. Every American knew how completely botched the response was to Katrina -- so you can blame them all for keeping Bush in office another term. But, unlike as often has been the case in China, you can't say the media coverage of it was sugar-coated or dismissed.

it would be strange for me that you were taking points of view from india to against the Chinese government. if you know some history you will find out why the india hate Chinese so much becoz we kicked their ass back in 1960's, and it really hurt.
The issue wasn't who kicked who's ass. The issue was who is making strategic nuclear chessmoves and whose citizenship knows about it. India knows about what's going on in the cold war. I am not convinced that much of anyone in China does.

the only diffrence between the Chinese and the USA's foreign policy is we would never play an aggressive role voluntary. get me corrected if I am wrong about that
Remind me the next time the Chinese navy starts firing missiles over Taiwan again to do its usual sabre-ratting exercises.

TAnd as long as America keeps having the mentality that they are the greatest in the world then I'm pretty sure they will not be anymore one day.
There's no question that the U.S. is fat and lazy in their presumptions and they are the next Roman Empire waiting to fall in their own hubris/confidence...

I don't think anything of Vietnamese people. You're just another group of people to me.

Um what are you talking about they eat newborn babies in China? If I am not mistaken a guy was doing a documentary and he was making "art" in his opinion. Don't you think its a bit unfair to generalize the 1 billion + in China and saying they eat newborn babies. He also didn't eat newborn babies that were alive. He ate stillborns and aborted fetuses not that it isn't still as sick. I'm no fan of China. I am just shocked that you believe that.

PS please give warnings before links. I don't like looking at sites with the pictures of people eating babies with all this Chinese/Vietnamese I am not sure what language because I can't understand it therefore it doesn't explain a thing to me.

Just because someone is your brother doesn't mean they don't want to sneak into your bed to buttf*ck you in the middle of the night. :frown:

Don't worry. Americans couldn't tell the difference between Chinese and Vietnamese in the 1960s war, just as they can't tell Sunnis from Shiites now, but I'd hope that at least just a handful more know some of the big differences now. ;)

1. Sorry for that sick link, I also felt that way. I don't intend to generalize at all, my point is there are things in Chinese culture that I could never imagine of.

2. Sorry for my English that could make you guys get me wrong sometimes.

3. When I pointed out the outward diplomatic relations between us and China, I meant Chinese government can not be trusted at all. We, Vietnamese people, know that and feel absolutely sick of it.

4. Do you guys know anything about the conflict between Vietnam and several South East Asia countries, including China as well, over South East China sea and some islands sovereignty? Ok, there is not much information on the Internet. When the torch relay were conducted in March, Chinese government ridiculously draw some checks in their tour-map on the Olympics website to mention that all this area belong to them. And yes, protest happened in Hanoi and Saigon that Chinese embassy in Hanoi was covered with polices to avoid any chaos.

So Chinese should never claim that Western people try to politicize the Olympics, they do too and they do it badly and stupidly.

And do not tell the world that people try to boycott the Olympics because Vietnamese people are not allowed to buy tickets to China during the Olympics. This policy is established by Chinese gov, of course.

I would never want to talk politics to you guys but I'm just so sick of Chinese gov and some Chinese people I know. Believe me, even though the US created such many bad sentiments to Vietnamese, we still want to forget it. But Chinese, pssssss.

And lastly, Vietnamese are different to Chinese in many ways. We want to be friendly, live a good life. I say many bad things about China but I'm not mean, I want to be broad-minded. Yes, I know there are good Chinese people too, hopefully I can meet one of them one day.

I would like to thank dao_nq for giving his opinion on this matter. I'd take the Vietnamese over the Chinese any day.

And the pictures seen in this thread, especially the link to the baby soup, literally almost made me vomit earlier. Such disgusting things like that are not what you want to look at while being hungover. It really does seem like the Chinese culture is fucked up.
