It's a European competition that's supposed to be the top continental competition that's between the best teams. That's very clearly not the case now or in the plans for the future. Imo that's even more unfair than proposed ESL solution that had theoretical problem of Arsenal, Milan or Spurs not being in Europe TOP20, but still getting a place in the competition representing European TOP20. That's 3-4 teams, representing 15-20% of the competition. Right now I feel that around 50% of CL teams don't deserve to be there whether you look at the 32 teams in group stages or ~80 teams in qualifying stages.

Only the real nincompoops think this current, uncompetitive, out of balance mess is the future of the sport. It’s not sustainable, it’s broken, and the sporting merit argument is pure nonsense given that the same group of super wealthy clubs win their domestic leagues every single year, and CL is more of the same.

But Euros too butthurt about using ‘murican ideas to realize they could learn a lot of lessons from American professional sports to improve revenue, financial stability, and competitiveness without even scrapping promotion/relegation.
