What if Netflix releases a statement tomorrow given the overwhelmingly negative traction this story is gaining?
Everybody have started to take a stand and the media is doing everything to bury this concept.

In the end, someone will end up being the scapegoat and I fear it's going to be Agnelli.
There's a demand and a market for this, certainly more so than having to broadcast the likes of verona vs west ham in the champions league. If anything those existing tv deals will have to be renegotiated as a much lower amount, lets the peasants fight over the scraps.

We're gonna get so screwed
Surely we will be safe, no? UEFA (and various FAs) are not going to ban their most popular teams. They can't really damage us without damaging themselves even worse.

Even with a UEFA ban the Super League will make billions. For all the bitching, football fans are not gonna boycott these games.

I think the players will take a stand against it and that will be that.

Some Liverpool fans have already called into talksport stating they'd go support another team like Everton or someone more local  yeah right. Give it a year to settle in and when its looking good, they'll crawl back.

In the Super Duper league? Just the name of it :howler:

Maybe I do, for now certainly not. I hope it will crash and burn together with those involved, they can take UEFA and FIFA with them in their downfall.
You hope it crashes amd fails but if it succeeds you want in? You stand with uefa but you hope the sl that you hate dismantles it.

You sound like an intellectually grounded and emotionally balanced person.

There goes the expulsions.
Now what, UEFA?

I find it funny that they can think they can argue in court that the reason they want to expel these teams is for the good of the sport and not for their greedy monopoly.

Also, what is this 'too much backlash' talk? From what i see in social media comments most are pro-SL (more anti-UEFA really, but it's the same thing rn).

It doesnt even need to come to that to be come an issue for them. This is a PR war at this point, and the mere threat of banned from domestic leagues (NTs is just grand standing IMO, but domestic leagues can be a real threat) becoming remotely close to official, can sway the resolve of some of these clubs. I'm pretty sure the Spanish and Italian clubs are all in (tho if truly banned from r Serie A, I would find it hard to see any of them being ok with pursuing this).

But the English clubs? They are the most image concious of all, if the heavy backlash and threats at home of expulsion increases in pressure levels, I would see them as the first to buckle and back out. And even with El classico duo still there, this shit would never ever work without the viewership power of the English clubs.

And yeah you can have 12 popular teams in an artificial super league together, but if the backlash is so heavy and anti the venture, and they are shunned from other venues, it will hurt their image and bottomline enough for them to seriously consider if this was really a sound venture. I wonder if the focus grouped this, and what their responses was lol.
Yeah, its a pr war, and alot of money and power is in play. Uefa, leagues and governments are scared now, judging by their reactions. Lets see how ppl react when they find out this is a competition replacing cl and not the actual league, and when you get to watch big matches every week and not maybe 2 times a year. Uefa and fifa has been diluting football for too long and its destroying the interest for ppl growing up, which is a consern, that must be addressed. The top players are playing far too many games between league and natinal teams, most against far inferior opponents, just bc thats how uefa want to generate more money. Top players arrive exhusted to wc and euro and deliver poor performances, and the quality is much worse than it could have been. Something have to change beginnig with the super league
