Yeah, its a pr war, and alot of money and power is in play. Uefa, leagues and governments are scared now, judging by their reactions. Lets see how ppl react when they find out this is a competition replacing cl and not the actual league, and when you get to watch big matches every week and not maybe 2 times a year. Uefa and fifa has been diluting football for too long and its destroying the interest for ppl growing up, which is a consern, that must be addressed. The top players are playing far too many games between league and natinal teams, most against far inferior opponents, just bc thats how uefa want to generate more money. Top players arrive exhusted to wc and euro and deliver poor performances, and the quality is much worse than it could have been. Something have to change beginnig with the super league

Your first part of the post makes sense and I agree, but the bolded part. You do realize Super league is solely created to have MORE games, so they can have MORE money? Perez the chairman, litterally says they want more games to maximise revenue. They could care less about players exhaustion, fans wishes, or improving the condition of football. They want more games and money, and its the only part of their contention I get, that UEFA dont share enough of the revenue with them that they make off all their competitions. But it doesnt excuse or explain this ludicrous venture nontheless.

We know its PR war, so dont read into or buy into this nonsense. Its about more games against marketeable teams meaning more money. Rest is just noise. These rich boys clubs would increase games to as much as possible as long as it its good for their bottom line, pretending otherwise is silly.

Something like this just ruins it for me. A few clubs thinking they're above the rest and shouldn't be able to get relegated is just not my thing.
I'm ok with it, after all, someones gotta start the reform, i'll miss them glorious nights of CL, and yes there's gotta be incentives along the way. I dont agree with the relegation part, but overall we're amongst the giants on this side and i feel ok about it. I also think because its clubs involved, theres higher degree of flexibility, so maybe they'll reconsider it in the near future. If Bayern joined they'd be heard.

I'm hearing so much bullshit about inequality. First tier clubs get seeded first in CHL. Bayern is not in same group with PSG, REAL, CITY, JUVE, they are seeded with Kiev teams, PSV, Malmo.

The ones that are not against it will stay silent to protect their reputations. The ones that do oppose it will have a loud collective voice.

If enough players say they are not going to play in the SL even if they will be fined or not paid, what can the clubs do next? You think Liverpool will cancel Henderson and 10 other players' contracts?
Yea i think that is exactly what Liverpool will do and should do. With the amount of money they will be making they will easily find willing replacements.

What player doesn't want play/live in miami, plus it would appeal much more to americans than mls

You are serious? :D I'm serious when I say this is already enough of a farce, lets not jump the shark. Inter Miami are newly created plastic club, inviting them when you already have genuine big clubs who have their spot in this venture questionned on merit, would just be insanely bad move to make right now.

Bayern are about to win 10 league titles in a row and you guys make cliched comments like local feeling, romanticism etc. I really don't understand Bundesliga fans sometimes.

If it bothers you that much, then ask the Germans themselves. :)

    Denial anger bargaining depression acceptance

good. at this point we can't lose. if it's serious there's no way any competition would generate so much money without the renegades.

btw how come ceferin didn't resign immediately? this is the biggest failure of uefa's existence and it all happened with his assistance.

Because Bayern enjoys the power they have. They act like they're some sort of charity group helping the Bundesliga along, but then in the same week take a player like Lewa for free. They enjoy their ability to be able to front run the transfer market in Germany, but a Super League would make it more difficult for them to do that. So they're just thinking about themselves just like everyone else.

Yeah they lost major face today, to threaten to cancel the CL semi finalists from on going CL right now, only to.....not do it? Just seems silly. If they said like Serie A did, this wont effect the current season, but we will consider the actions to take for next season after this is concluded. But no, UEFA had to make the reactionary threat of banning them right now, and not acting on it. Should just stfu:ed about it.

that's till players realise "Hey I want to play for a super league team because I get to compete against the best" just as players now want to play for CL teams, it'll only be a matter of time before clubs like Bayern and PSG will have to change their allegiance in order to remain competitive.

Apart from the fact that we could earn 5x times the amount in the Super League than we do right now. So this argument is not the entire truth.

Of course is our board not saints, they're cynical. But there's more to it than that.

I don't like what football has turned into, it's been like this for at least a decade. Only reason I'm still on is because I feel the Bundesliga and my own club in Denmark have this "local" feeling.

I'm not only against the Super League, what I despise is the fact that a few selected clubs think they're above the rest. And I would despise my own club even more than the others if they took part in it.
I agree with the first part. Though id say south america still has it. As for the second part, some big clubs are effectively not only above other clubs but even their league. Take juventus for example, if not for their getting their own stadium and changes they implemented to keep up with the times, the whole league would have faltered to the be on the level of portugal or france.

Because he was 'backstabbed', his being consoled by the FA's and ECA members. The real villain are the 'dirty dozen' and their supreme leader Che Agnelli. Nah he will keep his job alright, the premfags will make sure of it.

Well the clubs wants more high quality games for sure. Exhusted and inj players are not good for the clubs so they want them in shape and sharpe for the games that makes them money, which makes sense bc the clubs are their employer and pays them alot of money. The leagues consists of too many teams, and there are too many games for irrelevant national games, which the big clubs certanly dont want
