Way too much drama about something that was bound to happen. I see most of the people hate it mainly because thats how the journos they read and follow report the news regarding SL, journos have massive ego and feel angry because they didnt have the chance to spam each 5 minutes for weeks about rumors and confident informants and what someone that is close to someone else said to another one while peeing or having lunch or both. Basically they are angry because they were kept in the dark and only heard about it like an hour before it was officially announced. Another big reason is all those retarded ex players that are experDs now simply because they used to play the game once upon a time, those people are clueless but their opinion is shared and retweeted million times...
People are angry about the closed group with no relegation, but that is THE ONLY WAY in which a Super League can start, all those clubs that play there are going on a war vs UEFA and will be banned from UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League forever, no club would sign to play for SL if by the end of the season few clubs will be relegated and left to play only in their domestic league until they rejoin the Super League again. Its that simple, yet I havent seen one journo or so-called ex player experD to reach to that conclusion on his own. While there is still UEFA banning clubs for CL and EL and keep insisting that they are bigger than everyone else and deserve to live forever, clubs will join Super League voluntarily and wont get relegated since they would be punished for their rebellion and banned to play in CL or EL even if they qualify for them, again - simple.
When dust settles in couple of years and either UEFA sits on the table with SL to negotiate or other clubs decide to talk to SL and jump ships there, then another division could be formed, and if the project is indeed a success those clubs that would ask to join would not be few, it would be more than enough to form another division with 2 groups with 10 teams or whatever. I guess UEFA would still be alive and just as useless as it is now.
Bigger gap between top clubs and smaller clubs, thats easy to predict since its already a fact for over a decade, maybe even more. Lets see the solidarity plan in action, if SL actually does whats been said and promised then in 3 years they can provide even more help to the smaller clubs than UEFA in 3 decades, and thats not really an exaggeration. Lots of members already said a lot about that subject, one thing I want to say is that not every smaller club wants to progress, improve and fight for something better or reach higher level, not every smaller club has ambition to close the gap to those in front! Thats a fact, cannot be argued against or denied - there are clubs even in the top leagues who are more than happy to just participate and at the end of the campaign to see the club on a position between 10th and 14th place for example, they have zero ambition, they make zero investments, they make no risks, if they produce a decent player they dont even try to keep him and build around him - he`s sold to the highest bidder, they simply exist and react only when they neglected their squad for a few years and find themselves fighting for survival and against relegation, then and only then they start to care about their results.
When UEFA ceases to exist or gets reformed so that it is actually functional and meaningful for the 21st century then SL would change the format, accept more clubs, make divisions more interesting..
Also, a second Super League division with 20 new clubs in two groups with 10 each and a chance for playoffs and promotion to the First SL would be a thousand times more exciting and interesting to all than a Champions League season with the exact same 20 clubs plus another 16 in that terrible format they announced yesterday when all 36 teams play in one League but play only 10 games each to qualify for next stage of the tournament - now that is a terrible idea, terrible plan, terrible reform, all done by a terrible governing body that had people working on it for two years, those people were paid money for two years to eventually come up with that and their bosses actually agreed and approved it!! That change along with the invention of League of Nations or whatever the name was are more then enough reasons as to why UEFA shouldnt exist anymore and radical changes are needed. Urgently!
