We should give a fuck because we should have more integrity and responsibility as a club. Without serie a we’d be nothing - the Italian league has a beautiful history. Let’s fix it rather than turn our back on it. We are also a large part of the reason it didn’t capitalise on its world leading position in the 90s with our own lack of investment in infrastructure and bureaucracy - look at how the premier league took that mantle.

I don’t want to watch the Juventus Globe Trotters turn European and world football into a money making spectacle. You think this is going to improve serie a? It’s going to make the domestic leagues a sham - we will be earning 10-15x as much money as the other clubs who will have very little source of income. It will create such a vast chasm between us and the Milan clubs and the rest of the league.

The only people who win here are the club owners who will succeed in their aim of turning sport into a business. Look at who has formed this league, Abramovic, sheikh mansoor, the glazers, Fenway sports, suning group, Elliot capital, Stan kronke etc. - these aren’t football people these are business people. 80% of them likely don’t even know the rules of the game.
Without it's 3 biggest clubs Serie A is already nothing.
When you got clowns like ADL and lotito calling the shots nothing will ever get fixed, no point hoping. This is shock move to all who doubted this would ever happen. Frankly I'm loving it.

Mourinho is an f'ing genius. Spurs have been shit for months and he was almost guaranteed to be sacked anyways, but he's now capitalized on the recent events and has managed to go out as a martyr for football.

Mourinho is a genuine man, so I'm sure principle is involved in this as well. But if what I'm saying has any truth to it then Mou has yet again proved that he is a brilliant tactician when it comes to the football pitch and the media room.

He might've smelled the sack or whatever, but fact is that he lost a bunch of money over this. And I applaud him for doing it like this.

Everyone who is against Super League is missing the point I think. This isn't something to be played instead of national league but instead of the CL. If the clubs get excluded from their leagues it's only because UEFA and the federations are scared shitless of losing control over the money.

The 12 clubs want to normally play in the leagues and play the Super League in the middle of the week. I don't see how this is causing so much butthurt for all the "BUT MUH DOMESTIC LEAGUES" people.

If your point is that the rich will get richer, then I'm sorry to inform you that this train has left the station long ago.

Makes sense.

Local fans will mostly be against the idea of a Superleague.
International fans, having less ties, will mostly be in favour of it.

I don't think it will happen just yet. But if & when it does, I'm out. Not that that matters one bit, obviously :D
Same for me.

I'll lose a lot of interest in Bayern for this.

Why should the national league care what the teams are doing midweek?
Here you go.

How much will the teams that qualify get? I assume this guaranteed spot in won't last though.
The so called poorer teams that will supposedly suffer from this will probably get a much bigger benefit. They will have a more fierce competition to qualify and instead of getting so little as they usually get from six group matches in the CL and go crashing out, they will get exposure, more competitive matches for a longer run and of course a much better financial package. So far since yesterday I have only seen benefits for all parties in this except of course for UEFA but who cares about UEFA?

I don't think this has anything to do with the Serie A or any other domestic association. The Super League is a mid-week tournament challenging the UCL, domestic leagues are pressed by UEFA to act like this new competition is actually damaging. TV revenues for domestic leagues are still in place, and in fact, the smaller teams could renegotiate to get more money out of the TV deal. The gap between the elite clubs and others will get bigger, yes, but that doesn't mean the smaller clubs are going bankrupt or even get hit financially, it's just a case where the big clubs will become richer.

The way I see it, and I could be wrong, Its a battle between the elite clubs and UEFA. League associations are threatened by UEFA to take a stand against it or otherwise risk getting no financial aid from UEFA and they have nothing to lose. Just oppose and see who wins at the end. Either way, 80-90% of their financial income is secured by TV rights for their domestic leagues not UEFA.

That is the entire point. If football is to continue being a the people's sport then we need initiatives that counter the direction it's already taking. Not something that separates the league entirely.

The domestic leagues are losing significance with this, so not only are we getting richer but the rest are getting poorer because of the inevitable decrease in media rights. it's a fucking shitshow.
