Ok, then why the fuck does Juventus have to share ANY money with smaller Serie A clubs when it was the only thing keeping it afloat for a decade?

Im in favor of fairness, not equality.

SL is ought to be based on merit too - historical merit. I see it as a reward for +- 100 years of legacy.
We don’t share any money with Serie A clubs. Money is shared out according to tv rights and finish position, rewarding performance, not rewarding non performance. Should we have a higher share of that? Yes possibly but it’s reflective of the lack of infrastructure in Italy, I suppose we move to Monaco next to increase our appea. The only time we share money with smaller clubs is when we pay 40m for Bernardeschi.

If you are in favour of fairness then how can you possibly agree with a system where 15 clubs get to maintain their position for eternity in the elite regardless of their performance because ‘they used to be really good’ while the other 200 teams in Europe pick at the scraps?

This is a dark, dark day for football. And likely a ploy for UEFA reforms but 100+ years of our history benefitting from the current system and now we turn our back on it to join the boys club. Money grabbing exploitation

Waiting for Lotito's and ADL responses...
ADL : " Calcio poli was a farce and Juventus was falsely blamed and punished for it. Gravina is stupid and out of his league.
I was also a Juve fan as a child and only went against as a means of competition.
Now.... There was a mention of another potential 5 clubs to join?" Wink wink

Well it's a consequence of lacked reforms. Weak teams have always taken for granted what they have, at least in Italy, failing to put pressure on local authorities and FIGC to make the league more appealing, accepting mediocrity and even fighting against reformists(Juve) who only wanted better for the system.
At some point one has to argue how far can you go and it is pretty obvious we have reached our ceiling in backwards Seria.

This is exciting and all but no way the clubs can carry this load of games.

The winner of this new competition will in the end playing 23-24 more games in a season. With super-league, league, cup and CL (plus national teams) that is close to 100 games for some players a season. They are not robots.

The Super League replaces the CL and El competition for those clubs and it remains only Seria A and maybe cup football.
But Seria A is going to need to be downsized or something.

I agree - there’s no question Italy holds us back right now but serie a is also the whole reason for our existence and over the years it helped us. When serie a was booming in the 90s so were we.

But you cannot turn your back on the history. I’m not against the concept of a competition that pays higher rewards and contains the top clubs. But it absolutely cannot be an exclusive competition - in fact that’s not even a competition it’s WWE, it’s a procession.

If we finish 5th this season and Arsenal finish 9th this competition is a renamed Europa league. It’s no teams god given entitlement. In football you have to earn your right to compete at the highest level.

The main fucking problem with this club at the moment is that we have a sense of entitlement from the management right through to the appalling footballers. Dybala thinks he’s worth 15m, Pirlo talks about how our players don’t give enough effort or focus to the smaller opponents, Rabiot and Bentancur think they can cruise in 1st gear and feel entitled.

So much anger on this forum is directed at the lack of determination, focus and effort our players and management put in and how they don’t represent the ‘Fino Alla Fine’ motto of this club and then those same members come out in support of a league where our team will literally be able to finish last and still compete next season with no consequences. What kind of fucked up message are we communicating here.

This concept is a disgrace and this club is quickly turning into everything that is wrong in football. Americanisation of sport at its finest

I understand what you are saying but things are changing. Why should Juve give f about Seria A who's federation tried to destroy the club, instead of actually help them.

Is this actually happening?
It can’t be a bluff for better terms because it’s a card I don’t think UEFA/FIFA will allow to remain in these clubs decks. It’s a one time only thing and I doubt that UEFA will bend to the will of these ‘super’ clubs terms to the extent they’d like.

That is really not in these clubs’ interests to make it a bluff either. UEFA/FIFA would surely impose some new regulations limiting the hell out of these clubs. It’d be like the footballing version of the Treaty of Versailles.
