Preparing a 60 billion lawsuit against the clubs too. For what? Competition?
. Yeah, good luck to UEFA with messing with J.P. Morgan and other big guys' interests. UEFA are so used to thinking they are of so high importance and have so much power thanks to corruption-based connections in governments that now they seem to be genuinely shocked, lost, and because of this uncontrollably hysterical, like delusional dictators that lose their absolute power.

I’d say anyone who has been okay with how PSG, ManCity, ManU have operated over the past decade would have to be quite shameless to be bashing this super league idea.
I loved how operated those teams. Carragher has complained. He didnt complain when these rich guys paid for Alisson becker 80m. Fucking hypocrite.

ah yes cause FIFA is such an altruistic organization of charitable paladins that was running football for the public good before greedy Agnelli and co. hundreds of thousands of lucky southeast asian laborers in Qatar have shown how much FIFA cares about ethical business practices when they can make billions of dollars from Mcdonalds and Coca Cola.

God forbid the greedy clubs want a more equitable share of all the money they bring in and some degree of self determination. wow look at them just selfishly ruining what is such a sport of the people

The Football Leaks investigation claims 16 European clubs, including Juventus, Milan, Inter and Roma, have been negotiating to form a Super League.
This idea had been floated in the open before, but according to the trans-national investigation resulting from hacked emails obtained by Der Spiegel, there were and above all still are concrete steps taken to make it a reality.
The clubs allegedly involved on the ground floor in this Super League plot starting in January 2016 were Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Liverpool and Milan.
It is claimed they “went behind the backs of UEFA and other clubs to work on the option of leaving their national leagues and associations.”
There are even emails in the hacked Football Leaks information dump warning “we need to be very careful moving forward and avoid at all costs the perception of a cartel.”
That was eventually used as part of negotiations with UEFA for the bigger clubs to get a larger cut of revenue from the Champions League.
However, the Super League idea has not gone away, with claims an email was sent only days ago with a draft 13-page ‘binding term sheet’ of 11 European clubs.
The plan would be to effectively eliminate the Champions League by 2021.
Along with the 11 founding clubs, who would not be at risk of relegation and guaranteed a place in it for 20 years, another five clubs would be invited for a 16-team league.
The five ‘initial guests’ would be Inter and Roma from Serie A, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Olympique Marseille.
“The document even lists the ownership stakes held by the individual clubs in the joint European Super League company, with Real Madrid holding 18.77 percent, Barcelona 17.61 percent, Manchester United 12.58 percent and Bayern Munich 8.29 percent.
There is no mention of UEFA in the entire draft contract.”
Der Spiegel is not shit afer all.

It’s the most over the top reaction to losing 1-0 to Atalanta I’ve ever seen.

Agnelli hasn’t just turned off the PlayStation, he’s ripped it out, threw it out the window, turned on his Xbox and then asked his mum if he can still play on the PlayStation too anyway.

    It’s hilarious and I love it. :lol2:

But seriously, FIFA and UEFA are two of the biggest bureaucratic, capitalist and sadly rights abusing bodies out there. Fuck them to high heaven.

Just the fact that UEFA and FIFA are bitching about this being outside the international football structures and threatening to ban all the clubs from any other competition and all players of those clubs from national team representation just goes to show what mob-like, corrupt, decrepit, foul organizations they are. They absolutely need to go. This can fail or not, but good on these clubs for standing up to the endless corrupt bs of UEFA and FIFA.

If UEFA wants to stay relevant, they'll have to cave on all of this. Otherwise the Euros will become akin to football in the Olympics where people sort of care.

I think Bayern will have to figure out how to join as well, otherwise they'll be left behind.

Even though I'll miss the old days and I really don't like American sport structures, it did bring a smile to my face watching Roy Keane and Gary Neville throw a hissy fit over it all while Cardiff City celebrated their promotion to a league that probably doesn't matter anymore.

The EPL will still definitely matter as the Super League teams will continue to play in their domestic leagues. That will be the compromise.

Yeah, I think EPL is even bigger than CL worldwide. In the states at least, it's way more popular. Weekend games as opposed to 2:30 tuesday and wednesday games when most people are at work.
