would be nice for super league to have a relegation structure.

bottom 2 teams miss out on SL for a season. replacements come up from league winners from the two relegated league teams

I'm just really not seeing how this will make that much of a difference. There's a large amount of matches that take place in American sports where teams just don't give a shit because it's a closed league and there are no consequences. As we speak my fantasy team is being fucked over because the bitchass Toronto Raptors are sitting their starters to lose on purpose. At some point of the season you have the big names sure, but it's going to be like watching a preseason friendly because there will be nothing to play for no matter what.

I'm just skeptical at this point. We'll see.
Happens more in the nba. Almost never happens in the NFL due to the short season, and rarely happens in NHL due to the insanely competitive nature of the race for playoff spots and seeding there, even with the 82 game season.

i'm personally hoping for max chaos. teams get kicked off their leagues, SL falls apart, teams are not allowed back in their leagues, mediocre teams end up winning everything, world cup gets affected by it since all the top players will be out of shape. let's see it happen :xfingers:
That’s me right now. Not really in favor of this but if it’s going to happen anyway at least give me some top entertainment. I want total chaos.

if anything that'll be what our regular domestic season will be like, resting players etc... because you'll have that guaranteed super league spot where the real money is at.
Not if we actually do get kicked out of the league that is.

Oh I know, the NBA is the extreme side of it for sure but it still does happen in the NFL. Not that I watch, but I've seen some shit over the years with these New York teams . NHL I can't comment on because I know literally nothing about it.

Funnily enough, MLS fans beg for promotion and relegation and to be structured more like the European leagues but it'll never happen.

If Agnelli pulls this off, dude has some balls of steel. With the unibrow thing and kind of dumpy look, he never seemed to be a really appropriate successor to l’avvocato, but this super league power move he seems to have been the driving force behind would definitely elevate him in that regard.

it would be interesting if they make the super league a continental competition instead of a european one. maybe a couple of years later?

would be nice to see some japanese, brazilian, mls, chinese teams in the league.

the traveling would be a pain for the players, but would be nice if there was a work around.

Perez wanted a super league even back in 2009

There are moments in the NFL, sure. Lions going 0-16 for example. But for the most part, each and every game is both teams going all out. Doesn’t mean there aren’t some really bad teams, but there are usually only a couple. Domestic football leagues have a half dozen teams that are just complete trash around the relegation zone.

NHL is strange. The cap structure is so harsh, it’s close to impossible to build a dynasty anymore. Teams have trouble remaining as cup contenders for more than a few years because of turnover due to cap issues. A couple teams have done it, but it’s pretty difficult to negotiate.

Anglelli obviously played a significant role in this story, but I think it was Perez who really turned the game. If it weren't for big financial problems RM and Barcelona have right here and right now, it probably wouldn't happen, at least not yet. The Super League project would be used as a leverage to get what Perez wanted from UEFA, but nothing more. Now that circumstances changed, he decided to act. Perez has always been a big player capable to make audacious moves.
