1. UEFA forcing other clubs to sign those new obligations means they had nothing before such docs were signed. I.e. they have nothing against JJ / RM / Barca.

2. Even after those 9 pussyclubs signed new docs, it still doesn't mean much. These docs provisions still can be ruled void and non-enforceable even against these signees.

This is pretty interesting. UEFA made moves that were supposed to make them look strong but instead exposed their weakness.

It's not like Juve has the back of exor, a what 45 billion company?
Or real and Barcelona who literally have the Spanish government behind them.
We get banned, we sue. Uefa breaks anti trust laws in Europe if they do that, we get reinstated and they are liable for damages.
In the meantime the breakaway clubs signed a paper and they have to pay up.

It's more a win-win, if we stay united with the Spanish giants.
Im talking about the state of football. If it turns into a shit fight modern football could potentially go bankrupt

Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona sent a joint letter to the clubs that pulled out of the Super League, with Milan the last to back away, warning them of ‘a material breach’ of the agreement.

There were 12 original founding clubs who signed up to the project, but nine – Inter, Milan, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal – pulled out and signed a formal commitment with UEFA yesterday.

The three remaining sides released a joint statement today, but Marca and the New York Times insist there was another letter sent out to the rebel clubs on May 6.

The reports also state that Milan were the last to back out of the project, leaving only Juve, Barca and Real Madrid.

This letter urged the clubs to “reconsider” and warned of serious legal consequences should they sign back with UEFA, as this represented a ‘material breach’ of the founders’ agreement.
While the trio seem intent on continuing their legal battle, the rebellion of nine out of 12 clubs could make a huge difference.

It’s reported the original founding document stated that the entire project would be dissolved if 70 per cent of those clubs left.

We're fucked :baus:

The delusion is still strong, I see.
AA being Perez's useful idiot will lead Juve to the trenches, where we will eat rats and shit.
Good times ahead.

Sounds like a BS tbh. Why would anyone joining the venture agreed to include such a clause? Imagine if this happens not with 70% of clubs leaving simultaneously and quickly, but slowly, over the years, say, spread over 20 years, and each year some club get their own reasons to drop while some other new big club join. Eventually, the ESL might consist of the same number of top teams but with different names, and after the last of 70% of founding clubs leave the entire system would collapse for no reason.

Isn't that mostly because the core of that winning team was signed before 16/17? Its an interesting stat but I think it says less about Real being pennypinchers and more about them making some great signings who have been the core of an excellent side for years and sticking by them
Crazy how Real Madrid built a Champions League winning base without breaking the bank (except Ronaldo and Bale).

Keylor Navas £9M
Varane £9M
Ramos £24.5M
Marcelo £5.85M
Carvajal £5.85M
Casemiro £5.4M
Modric £31.5M
Kroos £22.5M
Benzema £31.5M
Isco £27M

Ronaldo was obviously worth his price and more.

Kroos only cost 22.5m? What were we doing?

He asked for 10M wages iirc, and Bayern didn't want to give

Getting owned by Bayern 4-0 over two legs under Conte.

Yeah, we had no chance back then, Kroos wanted RM and nothing else.
That was actually in 2014, when we were in EL and Real owned Bayern 5-0

If that were the case, it doesnt change much from anti trust perspective. Currently in Europe there is only one major continental competition (CL) for clubs, which awfuly resembles monopoly. Clubs trying to establish a different one cannot and shouldnt be prevented. Anywho rulling against ISU:

Afaik, Uefa isn't preventing us from starting a league.

Anyhow, it amazes me to read how so many people think "they" can't punish us. Or how we'll win in court. That' just being very naive.
I still remember the last time "they" couldn't punish us.

Entirely different circumstances. Accusation of gaining unfair advantage on playing field through privileged relations with officials designators and the verdict brought by kangaroo court vs creating another competition that knocks money out of certain organizations pockets that for so long held monopoly in football and case likely to end infront of EU competition commissioner. Hm... It amazes me how many fans are falling for this "Uefa the good guys saviors of football" propaganda. It is time we see some changes in football, by establishing other competitions in Europe that will remain out of Uefa's jurisdiction. Im glad Juventus is taking a stand this time. Actually Im fucking proud we arent caving in despite tremendous pressure from all around.

no one’s saying Uefa are the good guys. But this super league isn’t happening without English clubs and they’re not going back after all the fan backlash.

It's not about taking a 'stand' or feeling 'proud'. It's a general concern on what could happen. There's nothing to feel proud about here. The super league concept got quashed as soon as the English teams backed out. It shouldn't come as a surprise if we end up facing sanctions. Agnelli and Perez are two deluded businessmen who are fighting a powerful political organization.
The last thing this club needs is more negative attention but continue feeling proud I guess.

Agnelli and Perez are owners/presidents of multibillion Euros worth corporations and further more backed by corporations worth dozens of billions. Im confident they know a bit more than an average concerned fan.

You give too much credit to people at the top of any organization. They can be brilliant at some things and completely deluded at everything else. A prime example is Elon Musk - brilliant at finding great people to work for him, completely deluded about Covid and outright fraud with crypto and FSD (Full Self Delusional Driving). And then you have complete fraudsters with rich fathers -Donald Trump.
