Was great seeing Savvy at the game tonight with his two boys! Hopefully his recovery is going well. And great to see Bergy practice with the team for a second straight day.

Hmm, what you think, Rollie? Perhaps the Bergeron injury was a blessing in disguise, hmm?
:D

Absolute best case scenario, that could actually turn out to be the case. I guess it is possible. Would have preferred it wasn't Bergy, naturally.

It's hard to ever look at a situation where you lose your best/most versatile forward as a blessing... especially when it's a head injury, and the player has a history. We need Bergy back very, very badly. Desperately. He's far more important than Seguin to this series.

Seguin has been absolutely awesome in the first two games though; he's finally started to assert himself with the puck, making crisp plays and showing good poise in possession - instead of turning it over all the time.

His physicality has been much better the past two games (although it's nowhere near where it needs to be, or will be), and he's finally looking comfortable on the ice - like he belongs. There were a ton of games this year where he looked pretty lost, but that's to be expected with 19 year olds. That's also why he's been sitting; it's great to see that he's really used the time wisely, and worked hard on his game. I loved the kids interviews today; he's a team guy, really saying all the right things.

The speed and the hands were always evident. Damn, he looked good tonight. If he becomes a special player, this team could be a legitimate contender for quite awhile.

Kaberle also finally played a good game (even if the defense as a whole was brutal, Seidenberg made some especially terrible decisions). Much more confidence on the puck, his anticipation was better, there was less coasting. He shot the puck when it made sense, his entries into the offensive zone were smoother... he was just much better. I've always had a soft spot for the player, but he's been really disappointing to date; hopefully he finds his game now (and we get a discount in the summer?).

Anyway, the game on the whole was ugly, and Boston was particularly terrible defensively; also lucky on some penalty calls. This team is going to have to be much better in game 3; Tampa Bay has got a ton of high end quality. Hopefully we get some good news about Bergy on Thursday!

Ben Eager started yapping and got the Sedins going. Good for you, you fucking idiot.

The Sharks aren't even going to get an opportunity to choke in this series, as the way they're playing, they're done in 5 at most.

    6-2 Canucks.

I was very impressed with Seguin, he's stepping it up.

But Roloson won't give you much at home. The Bruins have a lot of work to do to come out of there with a game.

Perhaps this will go seven after all.

I'll give the Canucks credit. Their power play is incredible, much better than ours. They pass the puck around like the old Detroit Red Army line at times.

Seguin definitely has an elite skill-set. 6 points in 2 games is absolutely phenomenal, and if he can maintain his intensity moving forward, he can be a massive boost for the team - especially for the anemic power-play. Kid has got an absolute rocket, and at times it seems as though our forwards suffer some sort of allergic reaction when they even think about shooting the puck on the PP.

A fourth line of Campbell, Paille and Rich Peverley wouldn't be too shabby either. That type of depth would be very nice indeed.

We'll see about Roloson. I really think a healthy Bruins team can assert themselves physically, and if Roli can't see the puck, he'll certainly have trouble stopping it.

It's really the Boston defense that is worrying me; it's been pretty damn poor these first two games.

Getting Bergy back would be such a huge boost; he's solid everywhere, and Boston needs that additional puck possession.

TBay is very solid, Boston is going to need a much better effort moving forward. We're also going to need Timmy at his best - which hasn't been the case in games 1 & 2 (Although he was downright spectacular at times, making some ridiculous saves).

The defense was outstanding tonight - every single guy - and Bergy was flat out awesome. He provided a huge boost! Massive win!

Looks like Krejci got a sympathy call on that Bergeron hit. Looked legal to me.
It was definitely a legal hit. Luckily for TBay, Roloson got a sympathy call directly afterward, when he wasn't called for illegally playing the puck.
    :p

Ruins up 2-0. bah! Well, it's good for my pool. I'm packed with Canucks players. :p
    HA! :p

I guess we'll see how this all plays out, buddy. Gotta think that TBay is going to come out very strong next game... this series is far from over.

Hard to think the same about San Jose, but stranger things have happened!

Darn, almost an epic choke by the Sharks tonight. They got lucky the Canucks couldn't get their power play in order.

Congrats to Marleau. He really stepped it up. First three-point playoff game from this "world class sniper" since 2006. :howler:

You just hate anyone who played for Team Canada's Gold medal winning squad, don't you? :D

Did you notice that the Sharks other choker, Joe Thornton, now leads the post-season scoring race?

What a comeback by Team Yzerman! :scarf:
    :pado:

This was a Tim Thomas led meltdown, pure and simple. 3 goals in 3:30 ish seconds... so much garbage. Timmy gave the first one away, let in a softy through the wickets, and got beat short side from a bad angle (good shot by Purcell, but really, that just shouldn't happen from there).

I was pretty pissed that a timeout wasn't used after the first 2 goals in 1:03. Boston has demonstrated multiple times in the postseason that they're prone to this type of capitulation. So frustrating.

Then Looch gave the puck away TWICE for that 4th goal. Brutal... just brutal. Now we'll see if Boston learned anything from last year's choke-fest, or if they're headed for some more of the same.

There's a lot of hockey left in this series.

No he doesn't, he's tied with two better players and leaders from Team Yzerman. Plus Thornton has what, three goals? :pado: I've always said he can make a nice pass, but as a scorer, leader and captain, he's a consummate piece of trash.

And you must forgive me. There isn't much to like on team Canada, apart from Toews and the beast Doughty. :pado:

Now let's not talk about the Saints on the US team with diver/faker extraordinaire Kesler and Taxi cab driver puncher Kane. :p

There was a D that I thought was drafted by Detroit but I looked and it's Pitts. Després his name. Solid D that kid.
