We really fucked up the power plays tonight though. That was unacceptable.

Maybe Kindl can add something to moving the puck around next year if his development continues.

Still want to see a couple changes on the blueline.

don't think about it man..it was such a hard mission and those punks hurt 2 of your players...i agree that the last power play was so so poor, nobody took the initiative

Yeah, can't ask for much more after being 3-0 down. What an effort. If the roles were reversed, the Sharks would have been done in five. Tonight it didn't help that we were short a whole line of players today, but we still should have tied that game up. Oh well, we'll be back next year, of course.

Congrats to Todd McLellan and the Sharks fans who have stuck with their team through the years, but that's about it. Joe Thornton and Pattycake Marleau are still chokers and hopefully won't win the cup.

Ryan Kesler, I give you permission to cause violent diarrhea in their hockey pants. :pado:

I am very proud of what we have done, and we were really close to win these series.
I agree that our PP was really bad tonight, and along with injuries we had,and Niemi again playing great we didn't manage to tie it up.
Anyway, thank you Detroit for the great hockey games, and the good season we had despite everything.
But i agree,we do need some changes, and please,Nick, please, continue to at least one more season.

If the Sharks want a cup, they had better do it this year. Diverguchi, Wellwood, and a couple other players will be demanding salary increases in the summer.

They won't do it. They're gutless.
I hope they fail, and i think they will lose to the Nucks'.
Although we got knocked out, but I am proud of the team. They showed alot of guts ans heart.
I tip my hat to them for a great season, thank you. Now let's get them next year

Few things this series showed up clearly:
1.Jimmy is ready, and can be our goalie No 1,he has a bright future ahead of him I think.
2.Pavs is definitely the best player in the world.
3.We badly need to do some clearence on the blue line...Rafalski,Salei,Ericsson...and bring in some quality 1 or 2 defenders.

Jimmy is definitely the guy for the future. He has room to grow as a goalie and did very well under pressure in this series, so I'm pleased with him.

I'd love to see some changes on the blueline, but we probably won't see much besides moving Kindl up to a more prominent role. Perhaps they will let Ericsson go in free agency and pick up someone else instead, but that's about it. Rafalski is basically unmovable and Salei is a good option for the 7th defenseman role.

We will also have to re-sign Miller and Eaves as well since they are UFA's. Perhaps we will look for another scoring winger as well, so it should be a relatively interesting off season.

Hudler's 3 million contract still worries me quite a bit.

A lot depends on what happens with Nick. It would be awesome if he agrees to a 3 million contract or something, just to bring in a couple sick players. He'd probably do that for the team in his last year.

With everything from Jack White to Alice Cooper to Iggy Pop to MC5 in Detroit, they gotta reach over to a gay SF band??
Can you imagine an entire arena singing Penetration? Penetraaaaaaaaaaaaate, penetraaaaaaaaaaate me, so fiiiiiiiiiiiine, so fiiiiiiiiiiine...

Might as well leave it the way it is.

bit offtopic, but I felt like mentioning that Canada is going out of WC with this masterpiece and of course the expected Kovalcuk killer-goal. that said, I wouldn't like to see Russia winning the whole thing, I'd much more prefer Finland or Czechs.

Versus just compared David Krejci to Pavel Datsyuk. :wth:
They said that he does everything for Boston that Pavs does for Detroit.
Krejci is obviously nowhere close to Datsyuk yet, but you guys don't watch enough of him to fully appreciate Krejci. He just turned 25, and if he ever puts on a bit more muscle (Datsyuk is an inch shorter, with 17-20 pounds more muscle), David Krejci will be quite a scary player.

His hands are sick, outstanding vision, great stickhandler, and his balance is pretty good. Edit - forgot to mention he's a great passer ;) He doesn't have that lower body strength that Datsyuk has - which is why Pavel's near impossible to knock off the puck, and often makes tough plays and takeaways look easy, even though he doesn't look very big.

Krejci's very responsible defensively, he's good on the PK, he's a well rounded player with a ton of offensive upside. We'll see how his development progresses.

Congrats to Todd McLellan and the Sharks fans who have stuck with their team through the years, but that's about it. Joe Thornton and Pattycake Marleau are still chokers and hopefully won't win the cup.

I'm in the camp that thinks Thornton takes way too much heat for his playoff performances - and I've been in that position since the Bruins blew that lead in the series against Montreal back in '04, when most of this ridiculously recycled conversation began.

I lost a playoff pool that year by 1 point. I had first overall pick in the draft and took Thornton, who got me -2 points. But I still wasn't pissed off at the guy, because he was playing with multiple cracked ribs, and the rib cartilage was torn off the bone. It's an injury that makes breathing painful, but he gave everything he had. The guy was a warrior.

Found this article from last year about the chokers when I was trying to locate Thornton's career playoff numbers (I was interested, because I remember the broadcaster's saying he had something like 18-19 points in 16 games against Detroit... something like that)

    http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/psh/comments/they_forgot_to_choke/

The guy is also being used in defensive roles now, and as of game 6, I remember them saying that he was over 60% on faceoffs in the series.

His game is evolving, he's much more well rounded; some will see the point totals going down, and think the guy is in decline, but he's really being asked to do a lot of different things.

Anyway, people trash the guy, but I've always like him, so I thought I'd throw that out there.

A few stats about Marleau in that article as well.

He's on $650 000 now, so I doubt he'll be asking for anything more than $900 000. Decent passer, but he's a bit-player and he knows it.
He's not getting anything close to big money - especially from San Jose (who have some high priced guys already, and some youngsters they'll need to pay soon). He's had trouble sticking with teams because he's lazy - especially in practice - and he's always terribly out of shape. The guy show's up like 20 pounds overweight at training camp every year. The entire league knows this.
