5-2. That's it for this game. Samuelsson scores against his former team. 12 goals for the last 24 games this season. Too bad.

I don't know why there are Canadian Wings fans, but they sure are good trolls. That's all they talk about on our Wings forum now, their Gold medal. They aren't even from Windsor.
Most of Southern Ontario is a mix between Habs, Leafs, and Wings. I know there are lots of Wings fans around here (4 hours from Windsor) because the Red Wings' old farm team was based in Hamilton in the 60's and 70's. Lots of these players went on to play for the Wings, so naturally locals started supporting the Wings and eventually passed this fandom down to their children. I'm sure Gordie Howe was a factor back then as well, alla Crosby or Ovechkin now.

Yeah, that's true. But these guys are from Toronto. Maybe they jumped ship after the Leafs' reign ended.

We just scored four goals against the Hawks in the second period to comeback from 2-0 down, all in the span of ten minutes. They had to pull Huet because of it.

Best period in a long time.

4 wins in a row since the olympics...hope savard is ok (he got knocked out by a puck)
Savard got knocked out by a Matt Cooke shoulder; it didn't look intentional, but it was a headshot - that's all Cooke tagged. Cooke threw a shoulder to Savvy's head, which was vulnerable, because he had shot the puck.

I need to see the replay again, but I didn't like the timing of the hit at all... seemed a second late to me. There wasn't a penalty called on the play, but I don't like it at all.

Of course I don't like it... Boston's best offensive player is probably done for the year - he got strapped to a board, and taken off on a stretcher. If it's truly serious, I can't really see Boston making the playoffs. What a nightmare season for my Bruins. Everything that could go wrong, pretty much has.

In a way, they're like a mirror image of Juventus. Huge hype before the season, followed by way too many injuries to key players, and they can't score for shit. Fuck, am I ever frustrated right now.

Edit: I am biased, but after seeing this hit a few more times, I feel like it's dirty. It is shoulder, but it's an extended shoulder (his arm isn't tucked). There's also plenty of time for Cooke to ease up, but instead he cleans Savard... he didn't get ANYTHING but head. I also didn't know that this was Cooke's third dirty hit in the last year or so. I hope the league drills Matt Cooke.

Rollie, what have I said about the Bruins for over a year? :p

Well brother, I guess sometimes it all just falls to shit.

My fantasy hockey team turned out the same... outside of Duncan Keith, basically everybody on my team had a fucking career low season. I don't think anyone expected things to be this bad for the B's, but in the end a team's record is what they'll be judged by...

I still think that my Bruins are on the right track, but they certainly are in need of some retooling this offseason. Love our top 3 centers, and we may have the best goaltending tandem in the league. I really think that Rask is going to be an elite goalie. Despite being 4th in goals against, we definitely still need a couple solid d-men (I really liked the Seidenberg pickup, i think he's pretty underrated - if we can get him resigned for 2.5M or so, that would be awesome).

It's really all about wingers - we need fucking wingers... right wingers (who can actually skate - fuck are we ever SLOW) badly. When your second best winger is 42 years old... well, it's not a good sign. We're dead last in the NHL in scoring, and still have a shot at making the playoffs... that in itself is a miracle. I know it's a pipe dream, but Taylor Hall would look really fucking nice in Black & Gold... c'mon Edmonton!

By the way Andy, huge win today - I've always had a soft spot for the Wings. They were my second favorite team growing up. It was an Yzerman thing, 100%... such a classy guy. For me, it was always Neely, Bourque, and Stevie Y. I'd like to see Detroit sneak in...
