The Cleveland Cavaliers, the Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic are the first 3 teams in that order to qualify for the playoffs. There are still around 20 games left to play and they are still in with realistic chances to grab the 1st seed and home court advantage in both the Eastern Conference and the NBA.
The LA Lakers despite still having the best record in the NBA up until now has yet to mathematically qualify for the Western Conf. playoffs.

The Raptors are definitely not going to qualify for the playoffs. Chris Bosh is really a decent player, one of the better Power forward currently, but he needs a better team around him. I would be glad to have him coming to the Magic ...
I agree with u on LBJ but one should not dismiss the monster Dwlight Horward whom I think will be there to challenge LBJ for the years coming. I think he is on course to get the NBA Defensive Player of the year after leading the NBA in Block Shots and Rebounds.

They fucking kill me. During Bargnani's rookie year, I thought I saw the makings of a really good team... but now they're on the verge of totally collapsing. If Bosh does decide to leave, he better make damn sure to play his ass off in the process, so that the team doesn't get fucking raped again like it did with the Carter trade.
If I could have one move over, it would be signing Kapono to such a lucrative deal. This was a team that was already extremely weak in athleticism on the wings, and brutal at perimeter defending in general - they still are. That money (6M a year or whatever) could have been spent much more wisely. They also should have resigned Delfino.
I used to think that the biggest mistake was passing on Aldridge (some would also say Roy), but at this point in time, the decision could turn out well in the end. Bargnani's finally picking it up and has played really well since Christmas. In a couple of years, he could be scary good... if he ever learns how to use his size effectively down low.
Anyways, I rant, but the team just fucking frustrates me to no end. Hopefully they find a way to keep Marion on the cheap (never, ever going to happen).

because NY is the best market to play in any professional sport in the U.S. the knicks have the money to pay whatever he demands, the revenue earning to bring in anyone they need to build a winning team and he will be playing on the biggest stage everynight of his life.
the summer of 2010 is the biggest free agent flush ever- players like lebron, wade, bosh, nash, stoudemire, nowitzki, durant are all unrestricted free agents. the market will be flooded but the knicks are the only team that can afford 2-3 of these players. they will be sought after but most of them will leave the teams they are at currently because of the small money/market issue.
the knicks lock in lebron and durant, and either get bosh or stoudemire but i think it will be bosh since he is less injury prone.
plus, cleveland is a shithole literally - actually the entire state of ohio is

Hill, Nash and Shaq are like 35, 36, 37 already and Amare is out injured. Terry porter is fired in the middle of the season... Couldn't ask for too much from them.
Seriously, even with a fit Amare Stoudemire, they can't really be taken as title contenders. Other than the Lakers, the West are pretty evenly matched.
The team that really surprised me, horribly that is ... are the Pistons.
