We didn't draft anyone at 37 (to get away from Moores contract). We traded it away for 52, then traded away 52 for 57. Then 57 away for cash lol
We were determined to NOT anyone at 2nd round. Cap reasons I think. Dillingham at 8th adds 8-9m more to it.
Btw Filipowski is a steal. Seen as a KAT type of playstyle.
And he has an older Mormon gf who groomed him since he was in high school, to join Mormon religion, and now he drafted by Jazz. Seems rigged lol
I was reading about this, couldn't make it up. Apparently she was his babysitter when he was 13 and she was 20 (there is an incorrect suggestion she is a cousin) and I think she's played the long game with him and wound up with a basketballer lol. I'm not sure about the Mormon thing, seems weird as she's from Alabama. Might be true though, they do have them. But it seems like his family is now estranged from him so it's not a nice situation.
I like him as a player, there's always room for a big man who can catch and shoot and pass in the modern game. He reminds me of Kelly Olynyk. And like KO, I think he has short arms (the only guy in the draft who was minus height/wingspan, I believe), so those guys tend to get good at passing.
