It was, but due to Mavs being far off. Celtics was the best team from first second of the season to the last second. Only competition for that moniker all season was Denver Nuggets. But they weren't good enough to ge to the finals. Which is too bad, cuz it would made it more interesting final.

Considering all the great international players are in the NBA, it’s a pretty safe assumption to call themselves world champions imo.

it’s not like they’re Major League Soccer
