ya i've seen the screen shots of heath online and the moment I saw it last year I was in awe of how bad ass they made him look as the joker. From that moment I knew that this movie was gonna be pimp.
firstly let me say jack is a great, fantastic,no superlatives guive him justice, actor but THIS film has got me excited, too lazy to go over it again so just copied what i said before-

it looked like FINALLY someone had actually gotten the right idea about the joker and caught his essence. i hope the film does well as the joker really should be one of THE great baddies on movie history
i admit it i was rather sad, i used to love the batman comics, simply because batman was a "dark" superhero, such a pity most movies camped it up.
the joker especially was frustrating as anyone who read the comics and books would know that the joker wasn't some half-arsed dandy, he was a complete psycho who killed robin. there is a reason the joker was batmans nemesis and it looks like "the dark knight" has finally given teh joker teh edge he should have.

i read in interview with ledger in empire recently and it seemed he understood that the joker is a psychotic sociopath, if he has played it liek this then this film would almost certainly launched him towards a-list stardom

And rigtly so.I wouldnt have wanted a 70 year old Joker.Jack did his part anddid it brilliantly. There's no reason for him to play The Joker nearly 20 years on.
:agree:

I've seen all the batman movies but i've never been impressed, hated the one with arnie and i can stand val kilmer. I've always been a superman kinda guy so batman doesnt do it for me
Did you even watch Batman Begins ? The one with Arnie and Val Kilmer are the worst to be ever made.

The new Joker better be good, he must dark, insane and funny at the same time,
J.N. could do that with a smile...

BatMAN >>> SUPERman (not Gigi of course)
Oh he will. He will be much better thank Jack N. Ledger will blow everyone away. R.I.P

HOLLYWOOD - Russell Crowe will make a surprise appearance in the next Batman movie, Caped Crusader star Christian Bale has revealed.

Bale let the secret slip during an interview to promote 3:10 to Yuma, in which both actors star. He told iF Magazine, "Russell's going to actually be in the new Batman movie, which is a big surprise and I want to reveal it to everybody right now."

Bale refused to reveal if Crowe will play a villain in The Dark Knight - which is due for release next year.

This is an article from August 2007.Its obviously not that recent, but has anyone else heard anything along these lines?August of 2007 would mean that Ledger would have already been signed for the role as The Joker,so i dont think its possible that Crowe was supposed to play The Joker initially.

Two Face looks UGLYYY.Nothing compared to Tommy's version of Two Face in Batman Forever.I heard his first dialogue after becoming two face is :

Police Officer : I thought you were dead!

    Harvey Dent/Two Face : Half..

    Cool stuff:D

Oh and apparently the main villain is Two Face and not The Joker. He's just a force of nature moving through the movie.Dont know if its true though.I mean, both the trailers have focused on The Joker so far.Maybe the 3rd trailer will focus on Two Face.

i can see that happening. since the joker is batman's lifetime nemesis they may want to keep him around for another movie.

Salman, that was for sure a prank joke by Bale :D

Btw, Two-Face will actually BE in the movie??? I read way earlier that it was only Harvey dent that would be in it, and they would save the two face saga for next movie, that at most two face would make a cameo at the end or such.

Two Face is the movie.Im sure of that. And when i talk about him being the main villain,im quoting Nolan here.I read it in a interview. And dru,im not sure if they're going to keep The Joker for the next movie.Theyd probably move over to The Riddler and Poison Ivy,or Mr.Freeze for the next movie.Replacing Ledger as the Joker would be hard. They could do that with Katie Holmes as she wasnt a pivotal character, but The Joker's pretty huge.Personally,id feel weird watching The Joker played by someone else after the performance [put in by Heath. In my mind,Heath is THE joker now.

My mistake.I completley forget about Penguin and Catwoman. The Penguin especially,is a much more prominent character than The Riddler or Poison Ivy.I think the 3rd movie would have the Penguin.Perhaps the Penguin and The Riddler. That would be great.

don't know if this was in the preview, but here's the latest trailer (number 3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8PPh-C9pRU
    Thats the 2nd trailer.

Remember Nolan saying he will stay away from silly characters like the Penguin in the making of Batman Begins. The Riddler is more realistic, if its the dark, manipulative and eerie riddler from the classic batman issues. Not the movie one.

I liked Jim Carrey's impersonation of The Riddler. The downside was that it ended up a lot like The Joker's humouros side. The Riddler can definatley be worked well with, since there have been instances where he's even turned into a Batman ally. With Nolan incharge,i think we'll see a brilliant Riddler, and im certain The Riddler will be a part of the next movie/movies.He's too pivotal a character to be left out.

I don't know, the Penguin could easily work if you make some slumlord/gangsterboss out of him.

The Penguin is a classic batman villain.
