BTW, if you really want to consider documentaries, then I'd like to throw this in the lot. It ends with the possibility that Jesus wasn't resurrected, but he actually died in Kashmir.

That's actually as reliable as National geographic or History Channel documentaries as none of these are based on reliable evidence(primary source written by eye witness).

so how much history is actually based on that kind of evidence, do they not say in history that history is written by the victors?
From Antiquity and the Medieval period, not many.

From Modern times, quite a lot.

The beautiful thing about history is that you have multiple accounts on particular events and it is up to the historian/reader to determine which one is more realistic and less biased.

Also, countless things in history are supported by archaeological evidence :agree:

Oh and historians have to be skeptical and critical of every single primary sources, which is why it is a wonderful field.

Of course. When the source is unreliable, so will be all conclusions drawn from that source.

All the more reason to not believe it. The victor can skew details to favour him.

Yes and there is alot of archaeological evidence for biblical events. :)

Speaking of historical records and archaeological evidence, there is absolutely no evicence that the exodus took place.

Surely, the Egyptians would have left inscriptions on temples or records of it if it happened.

I read quickly though that page and is it quite true that some instances in the bible are supported by archaeological evidence.

However, these archaeological evidence don't prove anything about the supernatural claims of the bible.

The supernatural is super for the reason that FAITH comes into play my friend! Blessed are those who believe without seeing..

For example, let's take a look on Herodotus' account of the Scythians. Some of the practices he described have been confirmed by archaeological evidence but it doesn't mean that the other practices he describe are also true(far from it).

I have a question for you.

Why do you base your expectations/beliefs on evidence for everything in your life except for the most important truth?
Because to me I have had instances in my life which I accept as proof that my God exists and that Jesus was his son. I used to be just like you my friend demanding that I needed empirical evidence but as my life started changing and I started having things happen I started questioning the things that my senses told me and started to realize, that there is more than meets the eyes in this world/universe
