I've been having some intense discussions on our origins, the cosmos, blackholes, etc. and watched parts of Steven Hawkin's documentary series the past few days. How anyone can 100% dismiss the existense of God considering the series of "accidents", with such precision, that had to occur in order for us to exist.

It is the absolutism of theism, its pernicious influence upon humanity, its paralyzing effect upon thought and action, which Atheism is fighting with all its power

This is your quote but if it wasnt for those Christian, Diest, freemason founders of the USA their would be no free thought or action. It was the atheists like Stalin, Mao Tse Tung , Hitler etc etc whom restricted thought and action

Hitler was a protestant and I would disagree that Atheism define who those Communists were or their systems, it was more aversion to capitalism than anything sprititual....and it's not me that said it.

One of the best posts in this thread!!! For someone to be so adamant in his science and then say their is no Deity when science blatantly says
the chances that these series of "accidents" with that precision you speak of for us to exist are an improbability, nay an almost impossibility

Scripture and the church believes that souls who have not heard or know Jesus they are judged by the weight of their souls. Meaning how they live their lives. Those who have known and dismiss or choose to live contrary thats another story
Please point me to those scriptures and where and why the church (which church would that be?) state this generosity?

I'm no theoretical physicist but I'm pretty sure our understanding of 'random' pales in comparison to the vastness of space.

That being said, I do not subscribe to any scientific universe origin theories.

So let me ask you this. If you dont believe in scientific theory for our origins, and you do not give credence to a creator. What pray tell do you believe?
