Even if, our squad would still be a pale imitation. Seedorf, Pirlo, Gattuso, and Kaka. We have nothing close to that. Cafu and Maldini trumps anyone or anything we can afford or are likely to procure.
Not in 2007....

Mmm Janku and Oddo...all time fullbacks? Ambrosini is better than Pjanic?

That is the 2007 winning squad which beat Bayern, Manutd and Liverpool in the final.
Their midfield is still superior to ours, and their attack slightly edges it. Our defense is better tho. Also, Milan didn't have to play any vastly superior teams in terms of quality. United weren't that special in 2007, Liverpool are always a joke, and Bayern weren't that good. None of those teams had a Ronaldo or Messi in imperious form, or anywhere near the level of quality the two Spanish cunts possess now.

Manutd won prem league that season ahead of Mou Chelsea. Ronaldo scored 23 goals. They beat Milan at home 3:2 and trashed Roma previous round 7:1. Kaka was immense in return leg though which Milan won 3:0. Utd would go on to win CL next year with addition of Tevez to squad basically.

Liverpool joke? Liverpool beat defending champs Barcelona with dinho messi xavi iniesta in knockouts. In Nou Camp they won 2-1. Then they beat Mou Chelsea in semis.

Still. They were nowhere near as good as Barca and Madrid now. Moreover, that Milan team had a very good midfield, had been playing together for some time, and had Kaka in imperious form and poacher extraordinaire in Inzaghi; that fucker lived for those CL games. It's also about DNA. While we were busy heaping praise and acting like sycophantic fucks before playing Madrid, Milan were more concerned about getting the job done.

This Barca? The 2018 Barca is not better than that team. 2007 barca had xavi nearing prime. Same with Iniesta. Puyol. Dinho was player of the world. Eto was best striker in world.

You cant say current Barca is better. Many say Barca are so Messi dependant this season. They actually dont play sexy football each week.

Come on puyol or umtiti? 27-28 year old Xavi or some brazilian dude they signed from china.

Only Messi has gotten better.

And the spanish players just hit prime with 2008 euro win.

Dinho--eto--Messi
--Iniesta--Xavi------

Rvb--Puyol--Marguez--Belleti

I think it shows what amazing job Benitez did at Pool. 2 finals in 3 years with Gerrard being the only top player. And he beat the Barca and Chelsea who both where better squads. But Benitez was master tactic at Pool.

2005 - Champions League Winners
2006 - Champions League 2nd Round
2007 - Champions League Final
2008 - Champions League Semi-Final
2009 - Champions League Quarter-Final

Fabio Capello believes Italy must ease their emphasis on 'tactics’ and teach their youngsters more about 'technique’.

Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 60 years, and Capello argued the problem went beyond results, citing Spain as an example for the Azzurri to follow.

“I hear talk about football schools,“ he told Radio Anch’io Sport.

“At the age of 12, kids are always and only given the ball in Spain, while in Italy, it’s all about tactics.

“It’s much easier to teach tactics than technique: you can correct the tactics, but you can’t correct technique.”

On the back of announcing his retirement from management
, Capello reflected on his spell with Jiangsu Suning, leading Roma to the Scudetto in 2001 and the fortunes of the Giallorossi and Juventus in the Champions League, plus the Scudetto race.

“My experience in China was very interesting. It’s a different type of football, but I found it difficult to communicate” added the 71-year-old.

“I constantly had a translator because [the squad] knew little about languages. I could hardly transmit something personally.

“Champions League? It’ll be very difficult for the Italians. Real Madrid and Barcelona both have the advantage.

“Ronaldo’s amazing, he’s a true striker like Van Basten and Trezeguet. Messi, on the other hand, creates everything: the Italians don’t have much of a chance, and I’m sorry about that.

“Roma? I remember putting in a huge effort. At Roma, you get depressed and then excited very easily.

“Rome is beautiful and extraordinary, but it has this certain characteristic. After the Scudetto in 2001, the party went on for six more months, even if I wanted to bring everyone back down to earth.

“Scudetto? Juventus have Allegri, who reads matches well. Napoli have lost the sparkling game that Sarri got them playing earlier in the season.

“Ultimately it’ll come down to details, so the Bianconeri are favourites.”

Still, Xabi-Masche-Slippy is a Top, Top midfield compared to ours. Rest of the team tho, not so much
