Compared to champions league a few years back where we only had Cuadrado and Sturaro on the bench

Offcourse. He is a much better player than Pjanic. That would be a hell of a midfield. You can even slip Matuidi or Khedira in there as defensive btb to add balance, because Pogba has the ability to carry the ball forward and be a creative force in the final 1/3.

Pogba is in no shape way or form better than Pjanic, only thing he might have over Miralem is his raw talent and his physical capabilities.

Exactly. Pjanic Can and Pogba in a midfield would be epic. Is there any way that we move Pjanic up the field further? I would originally think no but we could have someone like Can sit back further due to our possesion options at outside back now. Pjanic could get higher along with Matuidi or hopefully Pogba/SMS. I doubt this happens but I think it could be successful. I do think we need someone who can link the two together better and having Sandro/Cancelo is a good start but a player like Pogs is ideal. Strong in the air and physically and can dribble while keeping the ball and keep Dybala and Costa up the field.

neither are Pjanic and Khedira, but for some reason we went through the CL with 2 goals conceded last year

The midfield is next year's discussion. This year we have to decide what to do with our attackers.
Ronaldo is certainly a better AMF than Dybala, he turned into a forward because he can and because he wanted to chase Messi.
In his first year he will also want to play as forward because he wants to brake that Higuain record. So it's CF or LW, assuming that Higuain will leave, which is not at all that simple, we have Dcosta, Manzdu and Ronaldo for the LW, so chances are that Ronaldo will play CF in a flat trident.
Dybala sucks as AMF, so don't put him behind him, but besides him, with Cuads and Berna as his subs, with Berna trying an AMF role at some formations.
Again i believe our main issue will be linking our midfield with our forward line, none of our midfielders is good at that role and we cannot expect everything from the wingbacks...

Raw talent and physical capabilities are pretty inportant qualities. Pjanic is a good midfielder, the best we have at the moment, but a focused Pogbaon top of hes game shits all over the regular sized midget.
