How does it feel to have absolutely nothing to say anymore in your country ?
I suppose, next would be re-entering the death penalty. Then all opposition are goddamn Gülen followers. Which are traitors. Traitors need execution.
You cant even revolute your way out of this. All the possible take-over candidates are death.

Every single civilised country has moved from omnipotent leaders to democratic voting systems, and with varying checks and balances.

You moved away from it.
I can't know, i wasn't around in period between 1923 and 1950, when people are not allowed to vote. Democratic voting system still stands if you're talking about the present.

Save your accusations if any of those you blabber actually happen, if you're so saddened by chance of death penalty becomes a thing again, look at the thousands of people who actually died/murdered in last a few years.

Here in belgium, we currently have a right-center (depending on what your own political compas is, i call it center-right, @Seven will call it far right-right, point is, its a right'ish goverment).
We have the socialist party in the opposition. Those are lefties. Joined by other lefties, one more extreme then the other.

Here is the difference.

I do not like the socialist parties, or any of the leftist parties. Kinda like a few of the green party's actual enviromental points, but thats it. However, i find it extremely important that they are there and provide opposition.
We also have extreme right. If our usually center politician big party's are not supporting what the people want, they'"ll say 'fuck you' and vote for them. Its a way of balancing.

You see turk, opposition is very important. Society changes. People's wish changes. One man has one opinion he wont change alot, and he'll get older and more rigid.

What happens in Turkey is that any form of opposition has been gradually beaten down. It has become very simply : opposition : you are a gülen sympathyser : you are a traitor : you need to be locked up/die.

You took away the ability as a people to be the majority and have a voice, for one man with a craving for power.

What a shame really to see democracy fail...
What a shame to see the people to willingly handle the power from them to one man...
At least its their choice to have a tyrant, unless of course the result is staged, because the difference is small enough, at any case, it was their fault to allow it come so close.
Some ppl just need to learn from their mistakes, even if this president will not become a tyrant, the next one will be, or the next and then, they will understand and then they will remeber what they have lost...

The learning curve is very long and requires lots of sacrifice and patience (because each generation feels entitled to commit their own mistakes). It takes a lot of time for proper systems to be in place that are aborting such dangerous ideas from the get-go, let alone allwoing them to be submitted to the public vote.

Attending the funerals of dead suicide bombers is way less sinful than funding the alive ones ;)

So the failed attempt to take over power was a chapter that leads to this ending of this pathetic play?

Wether Erdugan has stagged this or not won't make a difference though. He will use it the same way Assad used the Israel alabi against us Syrians.

Much like his of use "will of the nation" which has value only in Syria but shouldn't exist for Bahrainians (and soon neither for Turks lol). Or the term "democratically elected government" that has merits only as far as it justifies what Erdogan does even if it's moving the country towards the undemocratic idea of building a caliphate :howler:

They openly support terrorist activities and sending them the money given by state to serve people in the locations their mayor got elected, so they are also guilty of funding them.

disgusting filth benefetting from our freedums :inter:

btw did you read what Claudia Roth said?
Claudia :touched: That's some Ströbele like bullshit

about the "filth benefitting from our freedom", this extra 3 vid from before the referendum says it all really :p

I'm not a fan of national referendums about serious topics anyway. It's dangerous and somewhat pointless if half the people voting, don't even know what exactly they are voting for or against, and what the consequenes are gonna be. Brexit for example. @JuveJay

...Or let's imagine it was down to the people to elect the Bundespräsident. Matthias Schweighöfer would have to battle it out with Til Schweiger :baus:

Leave it to the politicians to make such decisions, that's why we elect them in the first place ffs, to decide about things the average joe has no clue about.

yes and no, because usually people have even less clue about the politicians they are electing and a lot depends on how good his face looks on huge banners or how good the main slogan is. I'd rather leave as much of the big decisions to the people as possible, because in a democratic system there usually is a situation where you vote for the lesser evil not for someone you actually want to vote for, therefore one vote in 4 years is not enough to control what happens in your country

Prejudice does not suit a clever girl like you. It is not a claim or opinion but a quote she(leader of hdp) said it infront of cameras and people.

"They deem our party to be leaning on a terrorist organization… We lean on the YPJ, YPG and PYD and we do not see any harm in supporting them."

Now think about what would happen to a Muslim opposition leader and his party, if he said "They deem our party to be leaning on a terrorist organization… We lean on the isis, al qaeda and al nusra and we do not see any harm in supporting them'' in front of people and bin laden posters in your beloved America.

When the politicians want to change the constitution, they should hold a referendum

And it should take 2/3rds to change it.

How are you swallowing being a liar and troll on matter of life and death?

Whoever told you that everbody who oppose the ruling party is imprisoned or declared as terrorist did lie. Did you get it?

However, if you are asking for people who are actually connected to fethullah or pkk to be allowed to operate freely, it is not happening anymore.

This is not Belgium, people have bigger concerns than which vine they will drink tonight. Whole nation is on thin ice. Second and bloodier military coup is pending, question is not whether it is going to happen or not but when. Strong leadership is vital as millions of lives depend on it.

Do you find it a coincidence that most outspoken critics got accused of beeing terrorists and traitors ?

35000 in prison. 10 000 of those military and 25 000 non military. But all people of knowledge and word. Journalists, teachers, professors. You believe these are all traitors and terrorists ?

This is not Belgium indeed. We can solve things without trowing people in prison.

We will never get the chance to see how Belgium deal with situations like this. As Belgium is a non-significant part of status quo, because of that, they will never face the dangers we face or anything close to that.

Turkey on the other hand is one of the bigger potential threats to the slave empire also known as world government, if they manage to unite oppressed people of Asia and Africa.

Ah yes, slaves. I recon you know alot about this issue with your ottoman heritage.

Belgium dealt with this before actually, with Erdogan's predecessor. It was a guy called hitler who rose to power in similar fashion.

Luckely, Europe learned from this.
