I understand the situation and heard some Swiss views on the subject last night on the news. Obviously, I do not agree with what those right-wingers are doing, but I will probably never understand the need to disrupt God's green Earth with loud shouts of prayer. That was what I was originally asking about.
I don't know if you have it as much a we do in Britain, but do your churches have bells? Every sunday churches in Britain at 6 am, 10 am and 6 pm ring their bells for 30 mins to call their congragation into prayer/worship. Is that in your opinion on the same par or a different thing completely?

I knew this was coming, and I mentioned it in my previous post. Churches are not like mosques, they don't make that much noise (except Sunday mornings), if it does, do the same exactly, it's your right!
You don't need a minaret for the call for prayer. If that was their concern then ban the noise not the minaret. Oooh, I want to ban the noise, so let me put up posters in which minarets look like missiles.

Even if you ban the noise only, Muslims will react the same way they did now. They will say Mosques without the Azan is not the same, the Swiss did the easiest way, to ban the whole thing. I would do what you said, ban the noise only.

Churches here have bells, and other establishments do as well. I'm not sure if they ring around the clock everywhere, but at my college it would ring every 15 minutes. I didn't really notice it much.

If they one day replaced the bells with our school President, Graham Spainer, yelling to the entire campus to concentrate on your schoolwork, you better believe I would notice it. And yes, it would bug me.

There is a reason why they have disorderly conduct and noise violation laws here. I know first hand -- I received a citation for it.

If its the noise, then the church bells should be banned too right? But they aren't (afaik). And to ban the noise, they had to put up this very innocent looking poster, did they?

Are those supposed to look like missiles? Maybe I don't know enough about missiles but they don't really to me.

why was I on your ignore list? I am offended you would do such a thing, considering I like your semi-trollish posts.
I had you on it from a while back, I forgot to take you off it, Fred too.

It was getting anoying clicking every time due to actual interest in the pair or your posts.

I believe that I blocked Fred intermittently due to a row over me attacking Arsenal, only to have a long and frinedly discussion about it.

I ignored you because I think either you or Nick17 called me classless etc. and after I'd made a statement that either/both of you disputed one/neither of you actually had a discussion with me instead chosing to continue to berate me. I'm glad you only find them Semi-Trollish now.

    Other establishments have bells, too.

And there is a difference between a person shouting and bells ringing.
