My biggest worry continues to be the defence. While numerically we are stacked, we are stacked with average players. Bremer is the only world class player we have but he is coming off an injury. Kalulu is still young and can improve. Cabal is coming off an injury and is still unproven at this level. Gatti is average but at least has "personality" but should not be considered a starter. Kelly needs to go - he will be difficult to sell but I suggest loaning him out. We have been linked with Balerdi and maybe this could be an option.

Now that we have offloaded Weah and Mbangula while replacing Costa with Mario. Tudor inherited a team that was built for a back 4 and now wants to play with wingbacks. I think we need a wing back who can play on both sides or even 2 because I don't see Kostic sticking around.

Assuming Luiz and Nico Gonzalez find new clubs, we will probably need another CM and offensive winger or attacking midfielder.

I am throwing names out there but if we ended up with Balerdi, Ederson (style of player), a Wingback (Molina?, Martinez?), Sancho or similar player (not sure Sancho is the answer nor the priority) and secure Muani after disposing Vlahovic. That would be an optimistic outcome.

My hope is that Koopmeiners can finally play like he did at Atalanta, we lock down our defence and bring some physicality to our midfield.

So in terms of squad:

GKs (3): Di Gregorio, GK2?, Pinsoglio
CBs (6): Bremer, Gatti, Kalulu, Rugani (might as well keep), Cabal, New CB?
WBs (4): Mario, Cambiaso, Savona, new WB?
Mids (5): Miretti or McKennie (depending on market circumstances), Locatelli, Thuram, Koopmeiners, New CM?
Fwds (5): Conceicao, Yildiz, David, Muani (hopefully), New attacking player (Sancho, O'Riley, etc)?

Rouhi and Adzic are probably best loaned out this year to increase their value and get regular playing time.

Tudor is still unproven at this level so I also don't think we should go all out to build a squad around him because his long term position in the club is far from certain. I like the fact that his formula is one of intensity and high pressing but every time our opponent is good enough to beat our press, we look too exposed defensively and we concede a lot of goals. His style of play if anything means we need even more assurance in that back 3.

Id' go for O'Reilly before Sancho without hesitation.

I think we should try for Lucumi for defense, he can be a bitch defender, but he has that strength. I will give Kelly on loan to Bologna to lower the price. And Bologna seems okay with those England, Scotland players, maybe he can be good there and become their key player so we can get some money probably from EPL club that want to get him back to England after a good season

Lucumi had a pretty high shot creating actions even as CB. Good progressive carries, high pass completion rate, high tackle and he is left footed. I rate him above Kalulu and Gatti, but still below Bremer

NB : I like defender/midfielder that have low clearance number, it means he not just kick the balll away, he find the pass to teammate after he win possesion.
One thing that concern me his aerials won number, with his height he should be really good in the air

Finally someone did the post I am to lazy to create! Lucumi is a very solid choice and improvement. Fits all paragraphs...

I don’t know how much you agree with me, but I really think Juve needs to return to a three-man midfield system, one regista with two central midfielders alongside. A team without top class wingers and fullbacks shouldn’t insist so much on playing through the flanks. We need to shift our style of play toward the center and focus on the middle. Signing a creative midfielder to partner with Thuram should be a priority, and Locatelli can take on the regista role. Our biggest problem in most games is losing control of the midfield, and that’s what’s really killing this team. I hope Tudor lets go of his current systems and gives 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 a try.

Here’s what I think could be our best lineup:

Di Gregorio
Mario– Bremer – Kalulu –Cambiaso
New Top CM – Locatelli – Thuram
Yildiz
David – Muani

Or

Di Gregorio
Mario– Bremer – Kalulu – Cambiaso
New Top CM– Locatelli – Thuram
Chico – David – Yildiz

My guess is we're loaning him back for a year, because we're offering way below their asking price, just to entice Parma.
I think that will be a factor to get the price down.

He also doesn't look ready. Look at the highlights from Parma's last few games of the season. In every one I saw he made a mistake that led to a chance or goal.

I get the argument that Kelly is terrible and we should put anyone else there. But if Leoni makes those sort of mistakes at Juve they get far more attention than at Parma which is a lot for a young player.

The issue is that we are spending 30m and haven't strengthened the first team, on a guy that has played half a season of senior football. I don't think we are in a position to do that anymore.

No I think it's something he and Parma want for his own development sake, dont forget he'll be aiming for a call up for Italy now, he won't get that riding the bench of one of the big club, maybe except milan who need him the most I'd say.

That's the main point... Parma wouldn't want to deprive themselves of him early and Juve offer to pay this season (paying his wages as well) in order to get a discount on the asking price and to secure him before other teams. It also is beneficial for Juve, as he's definitely not ready for a big team.

He's the best we can have realistically for the attack.
