The best squad in the league has no fullbacks?
Good enough to win in the mediocre league, yeah, but not to win CL that's for sure. We have individuals who are far better than what our opponents have. Chiesa, Di Maria, Vlahovic, Pogba, Locatelli, Bremer, Cuadrado. Those names are even above Serie A standard imo. I think it's a lot for Serie A. Others don't even have half od it.

Milan won last year with one of the lowest point totals in a decade, in a league where everyone was shit. They are absolutely EL calibre and improved nothing going into this year. De Katelaere in and Kessie/Romagnoli out. Wow.

We have no fullbacks? Wrong. We have right backs, our left backs are shit. Milan won with Florenzi/Calabria at RB. If they were at Juve, we'd say our right backs are shit, no? Would you swap Florenzi with Danilo?

Their 9 is Giroud. Their RW is Saelemaekers. But what are we talking about here? We paid 70M for Vlahovic and brought in Di Maria. If Milan plays better than their players then it's the coach who makes a difference. And the inverse would be true for us.

But come on, Chiesa-Vlahovic-Di Maria is miles ahead of Serie A, if we can see it for more than 2 matches.

It doesn't matter if you have the all time greatest team ever if you or me are keepers that team will suck, you are only as good as your weakest link. And we have really glaring weaknesses, saying that we got the best squad coz we got dusan di maria or bremer is pretty myopic imo

Gotta take things into perspective. Look at others. They have weak links too, it's noy like they have balanced teams. Serie A is quite shit imo. I can't believe people are saying our squad is not improved compared to last year.

So a coach needs a team with no weakness to do well?
He was referring that A.Sandro is a bigger weakness than any of Inter or Milan weaknesses and I dont think he is wrong.
This being said - his "you are only as good as your weakest link" is more like a phrase than reality.
If you are better than your opponents overall it means you are better than your opponents. Since it is a team`s game with 11 players its more about the overall strength than just 1 player vs another player.

On paper I believe we are the overall strongest and Inter are 2nd.
The thing is paper means nothing. There is chemistry, team work, determination, how they cover for each other, etc..
Milan won the Scudetto but they are definitely not the strongest in terms of players.

If we gel we get the Scudetto back simple as that.

P.S Watch Lukaku fail under Inzaghi.

Milan won matches with Florenzi at LB and Calabria at RB. If you want to talk about jokes :howler:
And both are significantly better than Sandro or Pellegrini or even Danilo played as a LB. He’s not particularly good on that side.

Anyways, assuming Chiesa is fit and finds form quickly for the last ~25 matches, and that Pogba actually plays more than a dozen matches looking like 2016 Juve Pogba we should be right there with the other top teams for the scudetto.

Is this strongest on paper including Pogba who has missed 72 matches for injury over the past 3 seasons and is already out injured for at least the first month of the upcoming season?

And Chiesa who won’t be back for the first few months of the season and then will take another couple months to get back to 100%?

Because without a fit Chiesa and a Pogba that’s actually performing (not ManU’s Jogba) we absolutely aren’t the strongest on paper.

I agree, we have the best squad in the league

Problem is whenever we make a line up, we take the injuries in consideration. And without Pogba and Chiesa is kinda goes fast in the wrong direction. Plus the mercato is far from over for us yet
Both merda and Milan have better starting eleven than us.
Merda have the best defence and midfield in Seria A and is on par in attack with us.
Milan is better in GK, defence, on par in midfield and worse in attack.
We are far from having the best squad.
Those who said that probably thought that berna could cut it for at least a mid table team in Seria A yet he ended where his real value is.
Same would happen with Sandro,Mds, rugano, pellegrini. Kean should play for Fiorentina, Kaio should be loaned out to relegation struggle.
Our squad is full of garbage everywhere.
