Cavani yes, exactly for what you said. The goal is to eventually move for Haaland in the near future, so any CF will be a stop gap. Cavani still is and will be at a high level for a couple of years and is a freebie. We have enough work already to fix the midfield and fullbacks so using big money on a CF like Milik (who's also inferior to Cavani) would be pointless. So a big yes for Cavani.

Silva I have no idea, haven't seen a EPL game in a while. But he's a AM and I'm not sure we need one

Silva and Cavani would be short term fix. They are not players we should rely on. Let them join Lazio and Inter respectively. And Milan too
We need young blood. Kulusevski, MDL, Demiral, Bentancur and Arthur are proof the we would rely on young but quality players in the future.

I agree but as starters, in midfield. Fullbacks and wings as well. But a CF of the bench? We already have Dybala and the plan is to eventually go for Haaland (or Mbappe, who knows). I don't see how Milik fits the requirements more than Cavani, cost and quality wise

Exactly what I'm thinking. He'd literally transform the midfield and improve it several fold. I'd even take David Silva as he's still also miles better than anything in our midfield too. Sure he's old but he can be a stop gap if we're going all guns blazing for the CL.
