I actually think we should keep Higuaín. Ronaldo probably plays ST. So if we’re playing a 4-3-3, the main options are Ronaldo, Higuaín and Kean. If we play with two strikers you would likely rotate those plus Dybala. Why would I keep Higuaín? Because he knows Sarri’s system, he is free, and his wages would likely be similar to a guy like Icardi. You run with a 4-3-3 and you have more than adequate depth at striker. If someone gets hurt, you still have two competent replacements.
That frees up soldi to buy areas where we lack top end talent - central defense, central midfield, attacking mid. I think swapping Higuaín for Icardi is not a huge upgrade. Why? Because if Ronaldo is striker, both play behind him anyways. And by the time that Higuaín is actually useless - maybe in 2 years time, the gap between Kean and a guy like Icardi will be a lot smaller.
