Our tactics on the transfer market is starting to feel a bit like Milans before they fell into their current slump: sign old legends in the twilight of their careers like Beckham and Ronaldinho, let the key core of the team age without necessarily having long-term replacements in place and slowly turning away Italian players in favour of high-paid foreign mercenaries. Meanwhile during that 2011-12 season we built a young squad centered on a fully Italian spine of BBC, Buffon, Marchisio and Pirlo which let us flourish and completely dominate the competition for years to come.

Now the dealings are actually reversed, and Milan are actually doing well again with their young team centralized on an Italian spine. We still hold a massive lead to all the other teams due to the fact that we have the financial upper hand, but if we keep trying to buy players like Marcelo to join our recent dealings like Ronaldo, Matuidi and Bonucci while shipping the likes of Caldara the other way, the investment won't last for more than a couple of seasons like we saw with Higuain.

We are not a team who only buy young players in search of a quick profit. Our objective is to win. Also claiming that we mostly buy old players is factually incorrect.

Last summer: Ronaldo (33), Cancelo (24), Bonucci (31), Can (24), Perin (25), Spinazzola (25)

The summer before: Matuidi (30), Costa (26), Bernardeschi (23), De Sciglio (24), Bentancur (20), Szczesny (27)

7/12 aged 25 or younger
5/12 Italians

The only experienced players we have bought in the last two summers are Ronaldo, Bonucci and Matuidi. To me that seems a pretty decent ratio between young players and experienced players.

I know facts rarely matter in todays world but come on at least try a bit.

Every single one of these players went straight into our first eleven to become a key player. A rather worrying trend. We are more concerned with finding quick fixes than we are at building a strong spine that will last.

The drama some try to create here constantly is just crazy. We have plenty of young players in our team and more are coming each summer. It seems a popular view among footie fans that age matters more than anything.

Getting 4-6 years of service from the likes of Mandzo is better than getting half a season from the Pjaca's of the world.

James would be an improvement over D.Costa even if I rate both highly..
D.Costa is better when talking about dribbling but James is more practical which leads to more assists.
Isco is very underrated these days.. He is a great player who can lift your team.
Dybala - under the right coach he will become a beast the question is - If Zidane arrives would Dybala fit his plans?!

We are targeting Marcelo. A guy who is currently benched and completely outperformed by Reguilon.

It is quite conceivable that we will line up next season like this:

Cancelo - Bonucci - Chiellini - Marcelo
Ramsey - Pjanic - Matuidi
Dybala - Mandzukic - Ronaldo

Average age is about 30, most of the old guys are on big wages, and no one has any resale value.

If you don’t see how this is a big problem, then I can’t help you.

One thing I'll agree with is that the club definitely WANTS the big ears trophy NOW, and there's a bit more than normal short-term planning because of that, but it's nothing to be alarmed about.

Getting 4-6 years of service from the likes of Mandzo is better than getting half a season from the Pjaca's of the world.

Some lack perspective and are spoiled. This run of scudetti and the amazing ascent in a short period will be appreciated more in the future.

If after 8 yrs you think that and still don't know how capable Agnelli and co are and see parallels with current Milan, good luck with everything.

Not to mention 3 of those 8 were free transfers in Alves, Khedira, and now Ramsey. And a 4th is a GOAT level player who is leading the league in goals and assists in his first year in the league.

Obviously management is trying to find balance, while still giving ourselves the best shot we can have in the short-term, even more so with Ronaldo here.

Balance is key though, hence the reason that alongside the "oldies", in that post-2015 we've brought in Cancelo, Dybala, Bernadeschi, Sandro, Rugani, Bentancur, Spinazzola, Can, Pjaca, De Sciglio, Perin, Lemina, etc... all 24 or under when we bought them. And Pjanic and Costa 26 when we bought them, Cuadrado and Szczesny 27. That's 12 players under 24, 16 players under 27 in that time frame. Only 2 of those players are no longer here, Lemina and Pjaca who both flopped here in large part due to injuries.

Hardly looks like we're only focussing on old players exclusively, dude. Perhaps relax a little. We also have a ton of young players out on loan (of course hardly any look promising), and now have Juventus B to help develop our youth system better. I'd say we're doing pretty well.

We'll see if guys on the fringe of our starting XI can step up next year, like Bernadeschi, Rugani, Bentancur, Spinnazola... not to mention purchases we can make this summer, where it sounds like the focus will be on young, talented players.

I really don't need your help thank you. You guys can panic all you want, but don't expect everyone to agree with your guess. Because that's what it is. We'll find out how big of a "problem" it is in a couple of seasons.

And 80% of these young players are average or just shit. Only Dybala and Cancelo deserve to be in Juve based on current form.
So we will have to replace Chiello, Bonucci, Ronaldo, Mandzu, Matuidi, Khedira, Quadrado in 1-2 years (some of them should leave Juve immediately). I do not see their potential replacements in our squad.
And not only replacements but outright improvements.
When was the last time we bought really exceptional young players who are still with us? I count only Dybala and Chiello as such.
Our policy of acquaring potentially world class youngsters sucks.Most of the time we buy mediocre tallents.
Real Madrid Barca are the best examples of teams that buy world class talents in their infancy and exploit the shit out of them for years untill they are ready to retire in Juves and Milans of the world.

I only saw his youtubes but I think I`ll watch his next Europa League game - He seems like the next big thing based on that so I get the clause but he would go for much less than 120M...
I expect us to be able to get him for 50M tops
