Juventus announced they have sold
Leonardo Spinazzola to Roma for €29.5m, while purchasing
Luca Pellegrini for €22m.
Both players had their medicals over the weekend and the transfers were confirmed after midnight, Italian time.
In the case of both Spinazzola and Pellegrini, the payment is to be spread out over three financial years.
They both signed contracts to June 2023.
To all intents and purposes,
the deal is Spinazzola to Roma for Pellegrini plus €7.5m cash.
Juve confirm in their statement that the sale of Spinazzola qualifies as a profit of €26.6m. --> This is the key
“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that these agreements have been finalised with AS Roma S.p.A.:
“Definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Luca Pellegrini for a consideration of €22 million payable in three financial years.
“Juventus and the player have signed a four-year contract of employment until June 2023;
“Definitive disposal of the registration rights of the player Leonardo Spinazzola for a consideration of €29.5 million to be paid in three financial years. The economic effect is positive for about €26.6 million.”
https://www.transfermarkt.com/leonardo-spinazzola/profil/spieler/118689 --> 15 mil Euro
https://www.transfermarkt.com/luca-pellegrini/profil/spieler/346567 --> 5 mil Euro
The value in transfermarkt is not book value, more of current value of the player, difference between Spinna and Pellegrini is 10 m
But our management regards Pellegrini highly, so the difference are deal with AS Roma @ 7,5m
Normally we will do the transaction with Juve sell Spinna for 15 m to Roma, and buy Pellegirini for 7,5 m
Is there any club offer for €29,5 mill for Spinnazzola ??? I can see max 20m and highly probable it will be 15m+5m add-on or loan 5m with option/obligation for 15m
