Cancelo should play in a 5 man midfield because he's great attacking like Spinazzola and average defensively. With 3 at the back you don't really need to start Matuidi because Can will do a all action job. That means Pjanic doesn't need to track back because he's crap at it. Buy another Ramsey type and you're set. Ronaldo and Mandzukic perfect for crosses from the wing backs and you have the option of playing down the middle with Ramsey and Dybala. Overall you get solidity in defence and control of the midfield. You also have variation in attack.
Under Allegri we were beaten in the CL finals by two great teams and some of our players went missing. I think we have regressed a lot by going to 4-3-3, we are not like Barcelona or Man City so let's not pretend. Our greatest teams were solid defensively, we had all round midfielders and then up front we had a target man alongside a technical striker. We are one CB and Nedved/Kaka type from winning the CL. We lost throughout the competition so I knew we wouldn't win it, the signs were there from the beginning. We need to go back to being Juventus.
