There are teams in the world that dont have Pjanic and they do just fine...
Pjanic in his role is one of the best but selling him doesnt mean we have to get the same type of player - Just as we can change formation we can change roles..
SMS wont be able to replace Pjanic in the current setup.. I actually see Rabiot or even Bentancur as a more fit for his position (not saying they are DLP) even though SMS is the superior player.. Its all about the player roles
For example Kante Can Pogba >>> Pjanic Khedira Matuidi (The trio of last season)

- we're likely to sell a couple of players, including pjaca (at least 20m), mandragora (basically sold for 20m, just not official yet), higuain (50-60m), favilli (8m), rugani (50-55m), sturaro (???) and a couple of others too.
- it might be a stretch at first sight, but think about it: selling higuain alone would make signing sms possible. (sms is more expensive, but he would have a lower salary compared to higgy, so the two would generate similar yearly costs.)
i still think sms is overrated, and i'd never pay 120m for him, let alone sacrifice pjanic. but i'm no marotta either, so i might be completely wrong.
