yeah it's amazing how people here always criticize marotta for not getting "wanted" players. whatever the fuck that means. but then you look fans of other clubs and you can see how jelous they are of juventus for putting together a 3time back to back team of champions on a budget of less than 80m.
If we signed Vidal or Pogba for 45mln each people would hail Marotta, but combined they cost 12mln so nothing to be excited.

This doesnt make sense.Wouldnt people be happy if we got Jovetic or Mkhitaryan for less than 10m ? Hypothetically speaking..

And @Lion we've certainly spent more than 80m over the years for assembling this current team.

This is the cost of our current bench alone : (i am including only the prominent ones)
Ogbonna-15m
Morata-20m
Pereyra-15.5m
Padoin-5m
Giovinco-11m
Caceres-7.5m
Evra-2m

Thats nearly ~80m on the bench alone. So saying we've assembled a champion team while spending less money is not true or rather misleading. We've spent quite a lot of money on the way too.

 It's not that we don't have money, it's that when we take risks we take it with some below average player from Udinese, old Italian or some washed up player who was good 5 years ago. That's how Marotta likes to spend his money.

And this "we won 3 scudetti" excuse is getting old. Ok, we did. How about we take a step up now? Everybody else in Italy is out to get us and building decent teams at that.

How about we stop wasting money on untalented shit and pay what needs to be paid for proven quality?

That there mentality of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" does not work on football teams.

What makes me angry is that I know we can sign a player in January like Jojo and Mkhi if we want to, we have to cash but we are waiting for the summer. Why? Maybe they'll give us discount. It is a good tactical thinking but we need AM in our situation no matter if he is cup tied or not. Our opponents are improving fast and we are still walking in circles. I know our market shouldn't be dictated by what Roma buys but we need to prove a point, If we take him on loan with obligation to buy I am sure City would sell Jovetic. His fitness thou is another question.

That true?

I love that the same people who hated Vucinic can't wait to buy a more injury-prone, younger version for significantly more.

that list doesnt make sense. i said the winning team, so the teams of 3 seasons ago, so you cant include pereyra evra for example.

The teams of 3 seasons ago ? You mean when we spent 80m just in one summer alone ? Or nearly 50m the season after we won our first scudetto under Conte ? Arent those sizeable budgets ? We have spent a lot of money under Marotta ,A LOT compared to the remaining top clubs of Serie A.Lets stop acting like Marotta propelled us to the top with shoestring budgets. He has made some really excellent signings but there are also a lot of flop signings under him which has incidently cost more money than his top signings.

The only teams that are looking at us with envy are Italian top clubs themselves because guess what, they dont nearly spend as much money as we do.

Not saying Man U operate sensibly cos they've clearly lacked direction in the market but to be fair to them, they operate under different circumstances,in a different market,a market where Adam Lallana costs 35m euros. Also they're extremely rich and are coming back off a horrid season,so they're forced to overpay or rather they're left with no choice, also taking into account that they face a lot of competition in the league.

Thats not to say Marotta hasnt operated sensibly. He ofcourse has for most part but there are some obvious limitations. And his limitations are being exposed recently.

Marotta has done very well so far in certain aspects..Pogba FREE, Pirlo FREE, Tevez + Vidal = Cheap while players like Bony cost more than both of them combined.

That isnt enough though, now that we're through to the CL and with Roma up our ass we need to get rid of any dead weight and start buying some quality players. As much as I love Gio, he needs to go..he gets no playing time and is being wasted with us. I'd even get rid of Llorente..he isnt Juve quality.

Jovetic would be a step in the right direction if he can remain fit/injury free!
