Technically speaking, both Granero and Raul Albiol are RM youth products playing for the 1st team while there used to be that amazing Dela Red guy, he was pretty good till that horrific heart attack shock in the middle of a game. He would have easily booked his place in the starting eleven if it wasn't for that.
De la Red is a good player, and he was quite impressive for Getafe, but don't kid yourself, he never looked like he was ever going to make it with Real, he was constantly overlooked and was mostly given cameos or appearances in cup games.
So what if he didn't break through the first team in his first season, the guy has the talent and is quite impressive as you've said yourself. He could have well been a starter under Pellegrini had he not suffered that injury IMO.

With Xabi Alonso, Granero, Lass Diarra, Guti, Gago, M. Diarra and sometimes even Marcelo all playing for three midfield spots, i strongly doubt De la Red would have got a chance with them.
So Barcelona are the team that focuses on charity and bringing up young players from their youth academy? That's why they are a respected club that everyone should admire?

But the close to 100 mil player has been instrumental for Real whereas Barca didn't even need Ibra for whom they paid much more than what he was worth.
