This is not an excuse, it is what's going to happen, and either Trezeguet or Ibra will soon get bnched. You'll see.

Del Piero in demand - agent Friday 21 January, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alessandro Del Piero’s agent insists that there are a host of clubs queuing up for his signature.

"When his contract expires, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United are first in the queue, followed by a number of Japanese clubs," stated Mario Miyakawa.

The Juventus hero is currently tied to the club until 2008, but there are doubts about his future given his relationship with boss Fabio Capello.

After being substituted 17 times in the League so far this season, the No 10 was dropped from the starting line-up last week to make way for the returning David Trezeguet.

The recent acquisition of former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu, with the help of Livorno, has also sparked fears that Del Piero has no future in Turin.

However, the 30-year-old, who has been at the Delle Alpi since 1993, is determined to prove that his career is not on the wane.

"Am I in decline? If that is true then why does the club continue to invest money in a product that doesn’t work?" replied the club captain.

He also laughed off suggestions that he may exit the Old Lady before his current agreement expires.

"I’ve just read I’m going to Palermo in exchange for Cesare Bovo," he added. "With all respect, I’m staying at Juventus until 2008."

Juventus director general Luciano Moggi also backed the player. "He is in no crisis and his future is not under discussion," he stated. "He will see out his contract here."

THATS WHAT THEY ALWAYS SAY.

Think of a better excuse please.
If Del Piero was done he wouldn't be our topscorer half way through the season and he wouldn't have a better strike rate than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Give the man a break FFS, Andy. He has done his fair share of producing this season and doesn't deserve the stick he's getting, especially when you take into account how Capello is treating him. Because of his illustrious past and wage bill he is unfairly crucified.

That's reassuring :) I'd like to see DP in the EPL after his Juve contract expires.

Forza Del Piero per sempre

I'd hate to see Del Piero playing for Chelski, where he'd probably be treated worse than he is here. I'd rather he become the enigmatic foreigner at a mid-to-high rated club ala Juninho at Boro, Di Canio at West Brom, Zola at pre-Roman Chelsea etc.

Yeah, same here. I'd like to see him do something similar to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Boro, Robby Baggio at Brescia, and Zola at Cagliari. If he's good enough to play regularly with Chelski or Man Utd then by all means he should go for it, but he'll be 33 at the time and I doubt he'll have it in him.

Given a decent run of games and time on the pitch he would do it this season no problem as long as he too stays injury free so if that was a joke, not funny

I think he has his sights set on becoming Juve's all-time topscorer first.
Since he already scored 166 goals, I don't think he will simply leave Juve as he wanna break the 180-goal mark.

Ok Real Madrid and Chelsea they can give us a very generous offer so I would like that to happen Man Utd have loads of cash too but they rarely make big money moves just like us (just Rooney and Ferdinand)

:howler: WTF would any of those clubs want with Del Piero when they already have better players in their teams?
I'm only sure about Real's motives, but for the other 2 I dunno since there r better players out there.
