Costacurta nailed us when we played Milan
With DP upfront, any defender could have. He played terrible during our last encounter with Milan.

So I still stand by selling him.
1. Cos he's not the player he once was, and would only hamper Juve's efforts in staying competitive.

2. It'll free up some cash to be allocated elsewhere.

3.It'll be good for him too, Zola needed a change before he found his way back to Italy, Japan would be good for DP as well.

Zola is actually amazing, I see defenders playing well at such an old age, but for a striker? not as common.

Del Piero offered Palermo path Thursday 20 January, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ambitious Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini is reportedly chasing Juventus idol Alessandro Del Piero.

The Rosaneri chief has long admired the Turin talisman, who has recently been relegated to the bench following David Trezeguet’s return from injury.

A number of clubs have tried to tempt the Italian international away from Turin before but none have succeeded.

However, an exit could be on the horizon given that Del Piero’s place in the starting line-up has never been more in doubt.

Meanwhile, another Bianconeri player could be heading for La Liga after Mark Iuliano joined Majorca this week.

Midfielder Stephen Appiah is being touted as an exchange player in a possible deal for Pablo Ibanez, Atletico Madrid’s 23-year-old centre-half.

The Old Lady also offloaded defender Nicola Legrottaglie to Bologna on Tuesday, which may pave the way for the arrival of Bayer Leverkusen full-back Diego Placente.

Elsewhere in the transfer market, Parma’s reserve ‘keeper Gianluca Berti has signed for Serie B side Torino.

The move may come as a surprise to current shot stopper Stefano Sorrentino, who signed a contract extension only yesterday.

Chievo have confirmed the sale of midfielder Ivone De Franceschi, who passes to Serie C outfit Padova.

Its not really a secret, clubs like Palermo, Bologna and and Fiorentina would love to have a player like Dp in their ranks. Not only that, theyre the only clubs we can really sell at a good rate because they overvalue his market rate.

If Capello is going to continually ignore Del Piero, then yes, a move would be best for him, but not to Japan imo. Newcastle are seemingly interested in a striker so perhaps they might make an offer.

Can you see Del Piero accepting a move to Palermo or Bologna though? I can't.

Yeah, and? Del Piero wants to win major honours and he knows he won't do that with Palermo. I see him sticking it out in Turin.

he went to the US as I remember and came back when injuries hit the Milan squad
DP to DC United to form a wicked attacking quartet consisting of himself, Freddy Adu, Javi Moreno and Aleko Eskandarian.

I think i could see him accepting such a move. His personality alone, would allow him to adapt to an environment like that of a Palermo or Bologna. At 30, he knows he wont find a better salary than he earns a Juve, and would improvise with a marginally smaller packet at one of the smaller clubs than move to the J league and earn a living. I think he's realised that he's going to have to improvise on his declining status as Juve primetime superstar. And humility has always been in his nature, so i dont think he'd see Palermo as a club too small for his stature. Maybe the likes of Totti, Raul and Becks cant stay away from the limelight, but i think Dp might actually cherish such a chance.
