Translation:
I'd like to make it clear once and for all: Juventus has not and never had any problem with Del Piero. If there's a lot of talk about him right now, it's because outsiders have a distorted image of his relationship with Juve. Reality is different. Alessandro will stay with us"....Moggi further denied Juve's intention to sacrifice their legend and also denied any problem with Capello "It is quite normal that Del Piero happens to be object of the world's top teams' interest. It is true that he is going through a rough patch, but we have the strength to wait for him"

if the money is good, moggi shouldnt hesitate. i think del piero's time at juve may be up with zlatan and now mutu joining. let him go to a midtable club like bologna. players like baggio did very well, maybe del piero can really play well for them. at juve, it seems he may not get that chance anymore.

If the rumours about Japan offering loads of cash are true, i think Moggi should go for it. Juve need to rebuild their old defence and build a better midfield. With Zlatan, Mutu and trezeguet, i think the team has good foundations for the forward structure.

I was watching Rocky V yesterday, and Dp shared an uncanny resemblance to Sylvester in that movie. Not to mention, the situation he was in. :D

Juve renew Del Piero faith Tuesday 25 January, 2005

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus have told admirers of Alessandro Del Piero to forget about any hopes they have of signing him.

"He is a champion and I’m sure that he will remain here with us," director general Luciano Moggi told the "Processo di Biscardi" TV show.

"At this moment in time there are other players who are in better form but he is a first team regular and he will soon be doing the things he can."

Del Piero’s future has been cast in doubt given his difficult relationship with boss Fabio Capello.

The tactician doesn’t seem convinced by the player and after continually substituting him, the captain has been dropped from the side for the last two League games.

That has led to speculation of a summer move, with his agent insisting that Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United are all keen.

"Evidently clubs are contacting his agent to see whether a move is possible," added Moggi.

"But that is only because they know that we won’t sell him. Del Piero will definitely remain here."

Juventus managing director Antonio Giraudo also backed the No 10, who is contracted to the Delle Alpi outfit until 2008, but warned him to improve.

"Del Piero is a champion but when you are at a club like Juventus you can’t live on the past," he stated.

"Capello currently has other ideas but let us not forget that the likes of Andriy Shevchenko and Christian Vieri both spent time on the bench a few years ago."

Mutu is so much better than Del Piero right now.

If we bring in Mutu, Del Piero will sit on the stands 24/7 so I would like to just let him go.
Really, is the league you're watching in this continent? world? or even universe?

Because I don't really see Mutu play in any leage at the moment because he's still on his drug ban so I'd have to say that the statement is a little rubbish.

Juventus chief Giraudo: Del Piero can't live in past
tribalfootball.com - January 26, 2005

Juventus director Antonio Giraudo has backed coach Fabio Capello's decision not to give fans' favourite Alessandro del Piero more time to find his form in the first team.

Capello has come in for harsh criticism over the way he's treated Del Piero over the last few weeks, but Giraudo declared: "Del Piero is a champion.

"But when you're playing for Juve you cannot live on what you did in the past.

"You must always be proving you're good enough to wear the Juventus shirt."

Tribalfootball :yuck: They always choose specific part of the interview to make a hot headline.....
