I'm really interested to know since when U DP haters follow football...

If it is a matter of 2-3 year then OK u have every right to crtisize DP saying he is not a world class player, lack consistency, injury prone and and.....

But if u had followed football for a longer time u would know why Moggi keep faith in him for 11 year and why he is the 2nd top scorer in Juve's history and why Marddona and Ronaldo and Lippi consider him a legendary player....

Sell DP to the destination u like, but I will make u sure Moggi won't sell him...

He should reduce his salary, play when the team need him and sit on the bench when not, wear this jersey until he quit football and then u don't have to watch his retirment game if this make u feel better....

I am not a Del Piero hater, nor lover. But I am a Juve fan. And I do love Football, and I watch many games week-in week-out. And in my Objective opinion, I agree with SID, There are many more Better players out there than Del Piero.

Honestly I think he had 2-3 great seasons, and the other seasons were not so worldclass. I think there's something holding him back, but now its time for us (Juventus Club) to move on, like we did with Baggio, Zidane and many other great players. I don't hink DP was better than Zidane, and he difinately is not currently, infact, Zidane being on the team might actually be some reason he performed well ( no discredits to DP himself though).

So, I do believe we should sell him by the end of the season, to Japan for a good amount of cash. Let him b a superstar there, let us put our faith in someone else, someone younger.

Trust me, I am a Huge Baggio fan, I look at me now, I don't hate juve for selling him, I'm still a Juve fan. But wherever Baggio went I also became his clubs newest fan.

Great post Vonam, and I agree entirely. Del Piero is certainly not as good of a player as Zidane, and if the latter was sold there is no reason why Del Piero should not be. After Zidane was sold I was very angry, because he is my favorite player ever to take the pitch, but I realised that the club Juventus is more important and we had to move on. The club as a whole will always be more important than any one player. Hey, it took Zidane to show us that.

Juventus r surely more important than any individual...

But there is no point of selling DelPiero, The Japanese team might offer DP a huge salary for 1-2 year, but won't offer a good sum of cash to Juve.....

Before u say we should sell DP ask u self why we to sell him....
answer this and convince me....

Zola counsels Del Piero Tuesday 18 January, 2005

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gianfranco Zola has given Alessandro Del Piero advice on getting his career back on track while the Juve man reacts to his critics.

The Bianconeri captain was sensationally dropped from the starting line-up for the 1-1 draw at Cagliari on Sunday evening, fuelling reports he’ll join a Japanese club at the end of this season.

“After the match I spoke to Ale for a long time as we are good friends,” revealed Sardinian goalscorer Zola.

“I just told him to relax and forget that he is Del Piero, because now he’s got to start all over again. Every player has gone through tough periods like this, so I reminded him of my own problems and how I came out of them stronger than ever.”

Zola was pushed out of the Parma squad by then-Coach Carlo Ancelotti, but found solace and a new career path in the Premiership with Chelsea.

Del Piero could also be forced to go overseas in order to find a club that will pay his wages and Japan seems to be the most likely option right now after he was repeatedly substituted by Coach Fabio Capello.

“Of course he isn’t happy about the current situation,” continued Zola, “but he can come out of this a better player. The only cure is to look ahead and react to it, and Del Piero has the qualities to do that. He has a fight ahead of him, but I am convinced he can make it.”

The Italian international did not comment on the issue on his official website, but did pledge to get Juventus back on track.

“Our lead has been cut to two points as we reach the halfway stage,” he explained, “and it was a little disappointing to see Cagliari snatch our victory away at the last minute. Like swimmers, we get an extra push off the wall midway through a race and we won’t let our opponents make up any more ground.”

Meanwhile, while Zola has ruined Juve’s plans, another veteran is making his mark on Serie A. Alessandro ‘Billy’ Costacurta has extended his contract with Milan until June 30 2006, by which point he will be 40 years old

his wage are too high, doesnt fit what he contribute to the club recently, and if we dont sell him now(while there's still lousy club interested in him) he would stuck with us for the rest of his career...why waste that so much amount of money paying his wage where we can buy new players that could offer a good prospect in the future.
