Should Beppe Marotta be sacked? (13 Viewers)

Should Marotta be sacked?

  • Yes - his signings are an embarrassment to the club

  • No - he just got us to the Scudetto and we should see where that takes us

  • WTF - When did we suddenly inherit aching ladyparts like interisti?

Marotta provided the squad for him to win it with. That's his job - providing a squad to win us titles, not signing strikers that will please the fans or even score a lot of goals... as long as we win, all our goals could come from Buffon and it wouldn't matter (as much as I'm pissed off about Bender).
Marotta provided the squad for Del Neri, where did we finish, 7th. Conte brought the motivation, the hunger and the Juve spirit.

Marotta's job is to fill the holes in our squad and he didn't, we didn't adress any of our needs this summer, we got a nice depth signing but we didn't the raise the quality of our " starting 11 ".

I think of Marotta as the Ranieri of DSs. Good enough for building a foundation, but not to take it to the next level. Yeah, we won the Scudetto, but we did that without a proper goalscoring striker. A top team in any league has a proper striker. Even Marotta acknowledged that fact before the mercato began. Winning Serie A is going to be an easy affair considering the quality of the league. It's time for us to seize the initiative to make our squad comparable to that of the bigwigs in Europe. And I don't think Marotta has the skill to do that.
We have the quality in this team to go to the QF of the Champions League and that would be a very good achievement this season.

That's what I've been saying since he signed Berba, apparently. Loser DS.

Then why sign Bendtner at all?? Its pretty obvious he knew there's a glaring issue on top of the attack. He went out to the press and spoke about it. ALOT. Even if this team wins the scudetto, what's he going to do next year when we'll need three quality players in total?? The Market conditions won't get any easier. The man is out of his depth.
it's a depth signing. signings a player like this on a free loan with no obligation to buy is the best of the worst decisions he made.

it's much better than signin denis for 15 million, and then being stuck with him.

we have only played 1 serie a game and we lost giovinco. pepe is still injured, which leaves us with quag, matri, and vucinic. not hard to see the need, even if it a disappointing signing

Bender? I don't know, I really don't know. You know he sucks, I know he sucks.

Makes no sense sacking him at the end of a transfer window anyhow. So if we can get success using Marotta's policy of signing cack players, there must be a method to his madness. Until the end of the season, we can only bite our nails.

And Marotta got the heat for that season, just like he should get some credit for last season.

I just don't understand, if the point of it all is to win, and we're doing that, then why the need for a change? Because we want to see superstars in our team? No, because then we'd be Real Madrid.

So lets see, we won one Italian Super Cup, one Scudetto and got into one Coppa Final.

Asamoah's MOTM performances made it so that we dont need a LWB, its him, and with de ceglie and giac we got enough dept

We have nice dept everywere

The attack ? well it has been a very troublesome summer, nothing went the right way.

More sensible members like Red allready pointed out that, marotta couldnt do much about most players we failed to sign, apart from pazzini

Real not selling higuain, rvp for retarded conditions to utd, cavani with 50+mil pricetag, dzeko that didnt leave because city didnt got rvp, llorente with 36mil buyout..

What money can he spend on a single player ? the 20 mil popped up so many times added with a player, and only in the final houre a 30mil for Stevan showed up.Smells like the board finally gave green light to raise it to 30.

I think, if the board allowed 30 mil on stevan earlyer, we might have gotten him. they made the mistake in only allowing 20 mil. Marotta should have signed pazzini when it was going nowere instead of trying

allmost everyone was poetic about the mercato at begin july, lets not act like we just sold half the team and became mediocre like milan please

And please Nick, stop with BS about how teams aren't willing to sell.

You come with a good offer, teams will listen and eventually will sell in these hard times. Arsenal sold their best player to Man U. Milan sold Zlatan to PSG...

Plenty of good strikers are available, and we end up with freaking Bendtner, The laughing stock of all strikers. Marotta is a fucking disgrace, last year he was running to sign Andreolli on the last day of the transfer and now he signs Bendtner and tell us all how we don't need a striker.

I miss Moggi.

They would definitely say that it's all Conte again.
yeah, conte made vidal, pirlo, and others int quality players. he's a magician.

odd how it didn't work on elia, matri, boriello and quag though.... oh that's right it's marotta's fault when a signing is bad, but conte's work when he is good

No. We're running straight from an unbeaten Serie A season. Don't sack him, but if he doesn't get us the reinforcements we need by the time his contract runs out, he shouldn't get an extension.

No, Del Neri got the heat and he was the one to be sacked. Marotta got luck next summer with Conte and we won the Scudetto.

He didn't make any markee signing in a season when we've won the Scudetto and lost one of our most legendary players...

I can't remember any deal where he had a smooth negociation and we all said well that was quick.

He always struggle to sign players, can't conclude deals outside of Italy...

All of them are panic buys, bought on the last day of the mercato

That's basically it. They want him sacked because their name whoreism wasn't satisfied. We could win CL along with serie A , coppa italia and bedtner could score 25 goals and they would still be calling for his head because no big names

Out of his depth and the team he made, just won the league unbeaten
But don't you know that's all thanks to Conte? Don't you know it's Conte's decision who to sign not Marotta's?

Don't you agree it's all Marotta's fault? Wasting our resourses trying to reinforce the team by guaranteeing we have sufficient depth to be able to compete
next term instead of just breaking the bank for our 'top player' in attack?

It's all so simple, I can't understand how our board can't see that.

Yeah, we won the Scudetto, but we did that without a proper goalscoring striker.
You gotta be fucking kidding me?

Fuck Marotta, how stupid of him.

Well put.. Marotta should not get his contract renewed. Must aim higher from next year.. Nobody is saying signing player like Asamoah was bad, but it looks stupid when the first thing we where missing on this team was a quality striker. Marotta even said that all summer.
