Should Beppe Marotta be sacked? (11 Viewers)

Should Marotta be sacked?

  • Yes - his signings are an embarrassment to the club

  • No - he just got us to the Scudetto and we should see where that takes us

  • WTF - When did we suddenly inherit aching ladyparts like interisti?

First, Unlike many clubs we have money. Napoli sold Lavezzi earlier in the summer. Athletic is selling Javi Martinez. and City have a logjam in the strikers departement, don't you think if we presented a 25 mil offer,City won't consider it.

Second, sometimes you have to overpay to get the players you want, Madrid did it with Modric, Man with RVP; Bayern with Martinez...Marotta prefers to overpay for the average players and don't want to do it for the WC players.
The odd reality is that Moggi's style would have ruled even more under this new era of fiscal responsibility for clubs.

I wouldn't fire him. I'd be fine with renewing. It's not very Juve-like to get rid of a SD who helped you get 1st place. We're not Madrid, Chelsea, or PSG and hopefully never are.

What big striker other than RvP moved this year? No one. And the amount which United paid was ridiculous imo. I wouldn't have paid that in a million years unless we sold someone like Zidane for double that. Not to mention Serie A is not appealing at all as has already been mentioned a thousand times and we also don't have the luxury of giving players exorbitant wages to negate that fact. So yeah, I can't really blame him that much.
You're preparing for the champions league and haven't renewed Del Piero's contract. You have let him go, and replaced that with Bendtner. If all else failed, and he knew about it, he shouldn't have waited till tonight. Berba should've been here a week ago. The economics would've been where they are today. It's not only about resource allocation. It's also about not promising fans the moon through the countless press interviews, three seasons in a row.

How dare you use common sense and write a rational post in this thread!

Yeah average players. That's why we have one of the best midfield's in Europe. Built for 10 million.

It kinda is though. If Bendtner scores 20 goals, its all Conte because Bendtner has never been a 20 goals kinda striker and if he did score 20 then that would have to be because of the fantastic coaching of Conte and his teammates? Not Marotta, its not like Marotta thought "Hey, Bendtner will score 20 goals.. I can see it".
I agree. But it's not gonna happen :D

Or Marotta saw the potential and Conte exploited it. It rarely is black or white, it usually is a bit of both.

Its exactly like the Barzagli transfer. He didn't sign him as the best defender in Italy. It so happened that Conte got him to perform out of his skin.

People who vote yes in this thread :

- If its a good signing, its conte, even if it was the year before.

- Squad dept on the core of your team is not important. Milan that had the big ass striker but when half the squad injured they lost alot of points and scudetto, and kicked out the CL ? they suppose its a coincidence and will not happen again. Juventus has excellent recent history with injuries !

- In hard times when teams sell and you dont sell, the only right thing to do is break the bank on a striker. You can sell him later to Anzi or PSG anyway to recup the losses.

- Moggi never sold zidane, he just broke the moderfucking bank, and added thuram, nedved and buffon. at that time we were a provincial mid table team. but because he was moggi, he could buy players half the price. Marotta is fail because we are the highest rated team in the world with shitload of money, every player wants to come here, but because he penny pinches they dont come.

- A board of directors are friendly people that allow their transfer director all the room and carte blanche to use all the money they scrambeled over the year on whatever purchase he sees fit.

lavezzi wanted to leave. martinez wanted to leave and bayern met his insane clause. madrid, bayern, and man utd can afford to gamble with money due the nature of thier finances.

you need to deal with the fact that we alsmot never spend insnae amounts of money on such a player. we barely do, and juve has almsot always been more about looking for bargains. yes, even in the precious moggi era.

how many signgins from moggi's last 5 years with juve do you remember costing more than 30 million hmmm? and remeber why we were able to sign them in the first place.

Don't even bother with him. We're all disappointed with the Bendtner transfer, but other than that Marotta has been brilliant. Coming off the back of an undefeated season and people still bitch this much.

Sometimes I wonder if the likes of Cheesio would rather have us not win the scudetto last year just so marotta could be fired?

Honestly, as much as I love DP, my hat is off to Marotta for not renewing it and yanking his chain and the chain of all fans for another season as we watch an aging player slowly come apart.

Berba is just another Vucinic, man. We all like him but he would've been a useless buy. Maybe if they hit form on separate times we would have the best attack in Europe but otherwise, total shot in the dark. At least Bendtner is a free loan.

And yeah, I agree that Marotta speaks too much. Hopefully he has learned his lesson there.

Saw what potential? You think Marotta sees a potential of 20 goals in Bendtner? Nobody sees that or else he would not have been going to Siena. And I don't even think Marotta signed Bendtner to be a starter.
