I doubt they cost more than what companies/government make with the income they get from guns.
The gun industry is just one industry. The USA would easily survive if it broke down completely tomorrow. And even so I bet the military pays for most guns anyway.

And no, I'm not supporting "everybody should get a gun" -way of thinking. I hate even hate fucking hunting and it's no excuse for someone to own a gun.

On the other hand I would like those hunters to hunt down commies etc. :D :shifty:

I'm not so sure about that. They ship those guns all over the world.

What do you mean by this? I think the military pays for weapons research and development, but private ownership of weapons is paid for by the individual. Private weapon ownership is a huge industry in the US. Even if you're military and want to keep your weapons after your service you still have to pay for them.

Surely the military buys from dealers too?

True, but usually from one or two dealers as that's how it goes with most thing the government buys. The private arms industry is a $30 billion a year industry and that's not counting gun show sales and private sales.

It's not about guns. We got a shitload of guns here too in Canada yet that kind of event almost never happens. It's about how a society deals with mental health problems, anxiety, a sense of closedness, extreme individualism, etc.

Nowadays if you're depressed they give you antidepressants and that's supposed to make you feel better. It doesn't work like that.
God I wish we had more citizens here like you.

Alot of school shootings past two years in america.
Columbine happened on the Clinton watch. V.Tech on Bush's and the rest most notable ones are on Obama's watch. What's interesting is I think de'gunning happened under Clinton when he de'gunned military bases/soliders...we all know who has been notorious for going after guns over the last 6-7 years and making it even harder to get a gun than the last decade still isn't working.

There are some serious mental illness issues in the States that needs to be addressed. All these folks have given some kind of warning signs they were not mentally stable and yet ignored or not caught in time.

Also fascinating, the skyrocketing gun crimes/murders in so called "gun free zones".

There needs to be much more done on the background check level regarding mental illnesses and warning signs. Anyone on anti-depressants, for example get a big fat NO on the application. If you aren't mentally sound then off you go.

All these fools shooting places up have been found to be mentally ill and even had a paper trail of concern signs that weren't picked up on. It is no coincedence they decide to shot up areas will they know people won't have guns: schools, elementaries, movie theaters, etc. You can be a mental midget but smart enough to know people at these locations will have absolutely no way to defend themselves.

Gun permits expire and when they do the exact same process should take place including a psychological exam if possible. I think the biggest issue is mental.

Now, may you all roast me again

so.... the problem is mental. so what we should do is make sure people with mental issues don't get guns.

other than that it's cool that people have these issues or...?

Criminals don't get to legally own a gun. Application denied instantly. Age limits as well for minimum age on an application.
