How can they be surprised ? Anyone that has been to Sicily knows this can happen. As many things was a matter of time in any italian stadium. But Sicily ( and I am half one) is totally different from other parts of Italy. Sicilans are more passionate. Being there I dont feel any change from living my normal life in southamerica. And the Football supporters are most like argentines. Come on FIGC cant be surprised by this-
Say that is a good way of not assume any responsability
i dont know, i dont understand how they can be surprised but they genuinely seem surprised 2 people have died within a week as a result of football related behavior, the rules are out of date and far too lenient, something will have to be done to stop this

No, it doesnt happen in Rome, Milan, or even Firenze for that matter ....never has :rolleyes2

Whether you realize it or not, there are idiots supporting EVERY team in Italy who do stupid things...not just in Sicily

And you being half Sicilian doesnt justify your ignorance

by the time matches resume we might have tudor back, it seems the FIGC are willing to hold off untill this is sorted out, maybe they should start with stopping fireworks being taken into stadiums, and they seem surprised that this has happened
Exactly. Rule number one! Don't let the hoolagins come into the stadiums with anything other than their wallets. That is all they need.

There are idiots supporting every team in every nation. The incident that just happend with Sicilian fans, though, has shut down every game in Italy indefinately.

The FIGC is going to enforce very strict rules, and it's a long time coming. :pint:

More importantly, time for the FIGC to act. :agree:
Sorting this mess out requires more than Figc! It will require new/amended legislation that can be implemented; the judges will have to apply it to sentences; the police will have to enforce the new laws; Figc will have to take action; clubs will have to be allowed to take action & players will have to set good examples.
So, that's the Italian parliament, courts/judges, police, Figc/La lega, clubs & players: - a lot of people!

Not all the fans should pay the price for some stupid fans. the hooligans should have to pay and there should be much stricter laws.
moreover if a club loses control over his fans not all clubs should be punished.

The solution to the hooligan problem in Italy won't resolve until the extreme passion for the sport itself vanishes. And I can't see that happening any time soon.

I have always thought flares and fireworks should be allowed on the stadiums and I'm not gonna change position now.

I repeat, it is not the laws that needs fixing. It's the Italian people who should stop taking football TOO seriously.

I don`t think that the passion is the problem. This people don`t support their club and don`t care about football. They were fighting outside the stadium instead of supporting the club inside. People who really support the club would never do such things. Moreover I think that Ultrsa should not be compared to hooligans. Real Ultras support their club and are not violent. This people are hooligans.

Be careful. That's not what I said. I agree with you on the fact that most ultras in Italy are peaceful and non-violent. But it's the fanatism that drives them to do these things.

I remember a few years ago Inter failed to get a penalty in the quarterfinal of CL and the Curva Nord threw a flare towards Dida. If that's not a sign of caring TOO much about football I don't know what is.

looks like they've got their work cut out for them, eh?

I say just throw them in jail-- ask questions later.

:agree: Even when kept out of the stadium, they will cause trouble in the surrounding area. These people are just trouble-makers, & they will cause trouble anywhere & for the lamest of excuses

I care passionately about football, but I have NEVER thrown anything at a football match. Like I said these people are out to do one thing - cause trouble!

There are some rumours Catania could even be thrown out of the league.

I say do that and reinstate Juventus into Serie A and give them Catania´s position.
