I guess I'm biased too then because the goal looked good to me. I watched the game on RAI and the replays and it looked like Zala hit the ball with his chest/shoulder area. And the ball definitely went in the net. It bounced on the outer part of the line and then ricocheted backwards into the net where the Bologna player quickly kicked it back out of the net. I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about, except that Bologna are sore losers with big mouths. We have had sooo many decisions go blatantly go against us and we never screamed to the press about it.

But that Cobolli-Gigli has got to learn when to open his mouth and when to close it. You don't ever EVER admit to the press that in so many words Juve was favored in a game! Whether this is true or not. Is this guy nuts?:agree:

Allow me to preface my comments on this game by saying I am no where near as expert on this game as most of you are so this is what a novice sees: we desperately need a finisher. We get so close to the goal and it seems that everyone is just standing there waiting for the other team to clear. Maybe we were missing Trez? I actually thought he would start sooner than he did in the game. We are also sorely missing Nedved. It was good to see Zanetti back though. I thought Chiellini played a good game despite playing out of position. And Gigi...there are no words for this guy. He is awesome in game after game. Message to Gigli....do something right...give this man whatever he wants to stay with Juve. We will desperately need him in Serie A, especially if our defense does not improve.

A big problem for Juve right now is that we have so many injuries and with Nedved's unjust suspension we have so many players playing out of position and we have NO depth on the bench. We have been fortunate so far but I don't think this will work in Serie A.

the ball hit zalayeta's head and shoulder. cant really say its a bad call because neither the ref. or the linesmen were in good position. the bologna player was blocking the ref.'s view.

its about time we got out breaks.....

I completely disagree with this. Zalayeta scores the winning goal( contrary what you think I beleive he played a great game) and that somehow proves he sucks? Can you explain the logic of that?

Del Piero was wasteful with his opportunities to score, but he was not even just ok (just being ok also means a bad performance really), he was simply poor. Maybe his worst performance of the season. DD was completely right in keeping Zalayeta, who was our only positive aspect offensively at that point, on the pitch. I'm really amazed how you call for Zalayeta's head when he brought us the 3 points yesterday. Irregular goal or not, he did his job. If it was faulty it was the ref's mistake, not Zalayeta's.
DP had one opportunity to score, and completely missed the ball

Zala had one opportunity to score, and at point blank range COULD NOT put it into the net, despite what the ref saw

Did you see the game, Dom ??

If you did, then you also saw how many errant passes Zala had, not to mention how many times he strayed off-sides

lets not turn this into a DP versus Zala thing, because DP wins hands down...I would take a DP on crutches before I would take Zala any day of the week

Well, I finally watched the last half to complete the match. Most of my thoughts follow what's been written already, but...

Did you see the game, Dom ??

I think you have it out for Zala this time, Vinnie. I saw some good passes placed between defenders to advance the ball a lot... better than anything Paladino did all night. I also saw a great cross that Zanetti was unlucky not to score on with a header. And as for the goal, I actually thought his shot was better than our last match -- where he was nailing it straight at the keeper every time.

Zala gets some props from me for his performance against Bologna. I won't be nominating him for the Ballon d'Or anytime soon, but I'd take his play today over most any match that, say, Zlatan played for us last season without hesitation. (Even if that is saying very little.)

To say that was a goal from the Camera angle its impossible. When it hit the ground it did not cross the line, bouncing back in its the linesman call. Zalayata controled the ball with his chest and shoulder. The only controversy in the goal is that it might not have crossed the line.
Performance in general was weak. I hope next match we see a better performance.

Back to your old tricks again ey? Some things never change.....
Dude your team is so fuckin dirty and corrupted that people got used to its filth. Like a filthy trash box in the street. No matter how much one would complain it will always be there. Eventually people will get used to its shitty smell..

That is inter for you.

so much for the destruction many here predicted.....

The young guys are NOT the long term answer, and its only a matter of time before we start getting our bell rung in B, because our guys are not showing that they are a step above the other teams, like everyone thinks, or wants to believe.

These tactics and our gameplay will not cut it in Serie A, and I solely blame DD
:D

:agree:

juventus never play great footbal, not even in serie a... about didi im not so confident like you.. i think he is not the right coach to take juventus back at the levels juve deserve.... however as we now juventus always rely on 1-0 wins , its in our DNA... and we also have to keep in mind that many times in serie B the team do not give there best, because its like from one moment or another we will always score... However, the level in serie a will be similar to napoli, genoa and bologna, meaning we only hav won one game from the 4 available, the goal wasnt gifted in my opinion it was a goal, but bologna had a penalty... this shows that we are still way short from the standard we need for serie a.. we dont have a subsitute for nedved, which we need for next year and the club doesnt seem mentioning any players who can replace nedved, we have chiellini playing out of place for no fucken good reason, we have injuries which pop up from everywere, and thats not only a coincidence... and we just want to hide reality by beliving that de ceglie wil lturn out to be roberto carlos, paro and marchisio wil lturn out to be pirlo and gattuso, and so onn

Actually Zalayeta often got things going in attack with his passes wide and upfield, often finding the incoming Zanetti with his passes.

lets not turn this into a DP versus Zala thing, because DP wins hands down...I would take a DP on crutches before I would take Zala any day of the week

Indeed, let's not. Of course Zalayeta isn't as talented as Del Piero is, but against Bologna Zalayeta simply outshone Del Piero.

Are you crazy? Football is clean now. Any mistake is just casuality. Or at least this is what italian interisti kept saying until monday

By the way, I'm sure you posted the same thing also in Napoli's and Genoa's forums :agree:

Edit: And in your own too, of course.

what I remember most about Zala's passes is that everytime he tried to make a pass to the wing, it was always a weak pass on the ground that was intercepted...EVEY TIME (I remember...I was screaming at the TV set:D )

As for Palladino, like I said in my match report, he is a forward, not a middie

anyone see how well Mutu is doing as a STRIKER for I Viola ???

It's not bias, it's geometry :D

Anyway, as I repeatedly said, it's not like I wanted the goal to be regular. :p

Pathetic Bolognesi would have deserved also an offside goal by us to be awarded and regular one by them to be disallowed :agree: :eyebrows:
...And should be put in an episode of Bozi's soap diary, where they get bombed by a giant balloon full of their bolognese sauce! :p :D
