And some here think that the international break will do us good? You all know that Lippi will take Buffon, Legrottaglie, Chiellini, Cannavaro, Grosso, Marchisio and Camoranesi.

YAY Azurri fan boys, happy now? Seven of our starters don't get to rest. Fucking idiots!

WAT THE F*CK is happenin to our team?? I have been watching every game of Juve's except last nights, and I predicted we were goin to struggle against Palermo. WAT THE HELL is wrong with Ferrara? He consistantly plays Iaquinta with Amauri, which two strikers who i believe CAN NOT create their own chances and need others to feed in to them, and it seems like they were just walking duds on the field from watching the highlights. Our strikers are having big time troubles finding the net. WTF is going on. How come DP has only played 10 mins this season? i know he was injured before, but did he get injured again? WTF is goin on? and no offence to Trez, i know he has been scoring goals recently, But c'mon, even buffon would have scored those goals as they were all tap ins. He got lucky. We lack creativity BIG TIME. Camo has been consistently our creative player, and creating things along with Marchisio. Diego looks sluggish after his injury, lack of match fitness possibly. I still wonder why the F*ck we spent any money on Poulsen in the first place. Melo seems to have supperb games, then he just dozes off to his own dreamland and makes a crucial mistake. I've seen him do that for the Brazilian nt too. And if i was to comment on our defence, i would take up all the resources that is running this forum so im just goin to be brief in saying that it seems that Chiellini is playing a two man defence with Buffon. Legro looks nothing more than a shadow to Chiellini, and filling up a spot in the first 11. WTF. is all i can say. So damn disapointed. Our attack is WAAAYY too predictable. And there dont seem to be anywhere near enuff firepower and/or creativity. Our midfield is not creating enuff, and our defence is all over the place. Lack of dicipline is wat i see. I wonder how things will be when Momo, Cana, DP, comes back? Or is this a result of an inexperience Ciro Ferrara? I still hope to see very soon of a team formed with Buffon in goals, Canna and Chiellini central defenders, Zebina/Grygera RB, Grosso/Molinaro LB, Momo and Melo in the center of Midfield, Camo on the right, Diego on the left but drifts to the center, with DP and Iaquinta in attack. That seems to be a line up thats worth contending for some sort of trophy. I hope something is done SOON. Forza Juve

absolutely gutted with last night's performance, it was shameful to see Miccoli owning our DF time after time after time...MF other than Melo was non-existent, Diego and Camo were always left to fight their battles alone...and the FWs? :howler:
1. You either overrate our defenders or
2. You underrate Miccoli's qualities

our whole DF other than Zebina is quite slow, so he was always going to trouble Legro Chi and Grosso, especially in one on one situations...and even then, a quality player would have buried at least one of those many chances

We all love Del Piero, but I don't think any of us realized how critical a player like him is to the team. He provides poise, trickery, creativity and skill that no one else on the team comes close to, except maybe Diego or Giovinco (who is stapled to the bench, Ranieri style). Unfortunately, he's probably in his last couple seasons, and going to be less prevalent from here on in.

Trezeguet is pretty useless unless the ball is put on his head or foot, in which case he's one of the best in the business. He needs his striking partner to support him, and I don't see it with Amauri for sure and not so much with Iaquinta... not like the chemistry he has with Del Piero.

Amauri is a selfish and moody striker. I'm starting to see why Brazil never called him up. I don't think he's a top tier striker, especially since he's pushing 30. He was awesome last year, but was it because Del Piero and Nedved were giving him excellent service, or was it because Amauri is the complete package. Suddenly, without those two legends, Amauri has gone cold. Is he really going to be the #1 striker in Juventus? Not for a Scudetto winning Juve.

I like Iaquinta, I should make that clear. However, I like him as a sub to inject life in the last 30 mins or less and to use his tenacity to take advantage of tired defenders. I don't think his intensity can make up for his lack of precision game in and game out as a starter. His shooting percentage must be extremely low as he seems to miss several good opportunities per game.

That being said, without DP, I think Trez/Iaquinta is the best possible pairing available. Thank god they didn't sell Trez this summer or you could imagine the mess Juve would be in now.
Quoted for the truth.

DP/Trez is still by far the best thing we can muster in attack. Iaquinta is a one man army, he doesn't know how to play along an other striker, because that requires him raising his head up and he can't do that cause he's sprinting like crazy all the time.

Amauri pulls the weight, Amauri is at least present when he doesn't score, he works hard, bla, bla..each time this guy started ahead of Trezeguet we have been handicapped at scoring goals.

We should pray to God DP recovers soon or we should start playing with a lone striker, because these three, no matter how you mix them, can't function together. Unless we throw Giovinco in the mix, but he's a gamble himself as well.

It's all fucked up.

I would wager that last year when Amauri was on form and helping us in leaps and bounds, you wouldn't see people claim he's second rate.

But alas, hypocrisy is common around these parts.

Amauri is not a 2nd rate player, he is quality...but I can't see how the hell he is gonna sort out his goal drought, especially the way he is playing the last few weeks

We are still struggling against small teams, this was our problem last year, our defense sucks, Cannavaro is the best we've got since he motivates and leads the back line, especially Chiellini who performs a lot better around him. Our midfield is shaky too, Melo keeps losing the ball because he keeps holding it for too long, this is not his first mistake, Ciro must teach him how to keep the ball moving in sensitive/dangerous areas of the pitch.
Trezeguet deserved to start instead of Amauri. And last but not least, Poulsen & Zebina should drop dead.

It was only goal drought now he added to it extremely low work rate.

yea, at least before he would run his arse into the ground even if he was not scoring...it's all in the mind I guess, the frustration must be getting to him

Well this could be nice untill DP comes back and then DP instead
I guess when Canna and Sissoko plays we would be far better defensively

BTW Kjaer was very good and I would want him in our squad next year no doubt about it

The term "great minds think alike" could really be used here.

Gio and Diego are both creative geniuses and if we would at least try them together we could see fireworks. Same for Diego/DP when that happens (if it ever happens).
I suggested that Diego + Giovinco duo like ages ago, but I don't think we will see it.. Yesterday was the perfect time to try it, yet the genius Ciro put in De Ceglie instead..

Ever since we signed him I have consistently expressed my doubts over his usefulness and value for a large sack of gold nuggets. If anyone is pinning their hopes on Italy's chances at defending their WC crown, on Amauri, they are heading for a horrible summer next year...He has strength, decent control, and is a fine header of the ball, but he has shown nothing, last season or this season to prove he is worthy of a starting jersey at a club, traditionally speaking, which is one of the most prestigious on the planet. I think the jump from Palermo to us was too great for him. Similar routine to Almiron...

And my only demand of CIro now is :KEEP PLAYING TREZEGUET...LET HIM GET HIS MATCH SHARPNESS BACK...then when DP returns to provide, Momo adds BEAST to the midfield and Cannavaro continues where he left off when injury struck...we will be fine.

but clearly...we do not have a world class strike force. Other than the potential DP Trez resurrection...

but what of our youngsters??? Immobile for example????

Very poor game last night. It must have been some bad joke. Being outplayed by Palermo for most of the game is 1 thing, but being completely clueless all the time is inexcusable, Palermo could have really trashed us. For the first time in many months, it took me a lot of effort to finish watching the game.

Buffon 7,5 - Clearly our best player.
Zebina 5 - Was owned a number of times, but it could have been worse.
Legrottaglie 6 - He did ok, all things considered.
Chiellini 6 - Comparable to Legro. Did what he could.
Grosso 3,5 - :sergio:, when are we going to see some Italy- like performances from him?
Poulsen 5 - Mixed the good with the bad.
Melo 5,5 - Slightly better than Poulsen.
Camoranesi 5,5 - One of the more involved players out there, but in the end he didn't contribute that much. Could, probably should, have been sent off for that foul on Simplicio.
Diego 5 - Some nice moves, but completely invisible for a big part of the game. There was a moment when I even asked myself if he was still on the pitch.
Iaquinta 4 - His amazing start to the season will be forgotten really fast if he continues like the last 2 games.
Amauri 4,5 - Only a little better than Iaquinta.

Trezeguet 5 - Came on when the game was already lost so what could he do?
De Ceglie 5 - see Trez.
    Grygera - /
