Poker on the snow

Juventus on the field with has become synonymous with Ranieri’s men especially in ythe seven consecutive wins. In weather which is far from ideal, rain at first and snow later, the bianconeri are immediately very incisive.

The first minute immediately sees a freekick for Juventus after a foul on Marchisio. The ball is crossed into the area but its too high for anybody to head home. Three minutes later a great action in the Reggina area with Camoranesi who leaps high and falls badly on his shoulder after what seemed like a push by a Reggina defender. In the action that followed Grgera put the ball inches wide.

In the 9th minute Sissoko dishes out a good ball to Del Piero who runs on the flank and passes back with a great heel to Camoranesi who crosses into the area but the ball is cleared by the Reggina defence. The captain is in magical form and one minute later he produces a great pass into the area but the ball is too long for the oncoming attackers.

In the 11th minute a coorner for Juventus kicked by Nedved to Camoranesi dangerously in the area but the shot is deviated by the defence. There seemed to be a foul in the area but the referee says to play on.

Juventus with a fiery start continue to show their determination. In the 14th minute however a freekickis given in favour of Reggina after a foul on Barreto by Legrottaglie. Cozza shoots on the wall with the Juventus defence resorting to a corner.

This is however a short interval and in the 15th minute Sissoko shoots from outside the area from a central position but the ball goes wide. Two minutes later a corner is given to Juventus. Camoranesi takes it but the ball is cleared by the defence. In the action that follows Marchisio crosses into the area. Seconds later Chiellini is close to scoring as he heads the ball from under the post but the ball goes inches wide.

Reggina is under siege. In the 20th minute Sissoko passes to Amauri who is just about to enter the area but is fouled with the referee asking him to get up.

In the 22nd minute a Reggina go forward winning a corner The ball is cleared by the defence in what was a dangerous opportunity for the Calabrian side.

Juventus however are commanding the game and in the 24th minute a great escape for sees Del Piero being fouled by Valdez who is shown the yellow card. In the action that follows Del Piero fires a powerful shot from a great distance but Campagnolo saves.

Del Piero equals magic. In the 27th minute a great action by the skipper who passes to Nedved with a heel who in turn passes to Camoranesi who shoots straight into the net for 1-0. What a goal for a player who has just recovered from a long injury and who scared the fans in the first four minutes. In the 30th minute it is the same Italo-Argentinian who takes a corner with Del Piero anticipated by the defence.

The best chance by Reggina in the first half is on the 32nd minute when Santos hits the horizontal post sending shivers down the Juventus spines. Juventus however react immediately and one minute later Del Piero enters the area , manages to shoot from the edge but Camapagnolo saves a very powerful shot. In the 34th minute Reggina try to react but Chiellini clears a dangerous cross into the area.

On the 37th minute Del Piero wins a great ball in midfield passing to Amauri who after a great move shoots wide. Three minutes later a great pass by Camoranesi with del Piero feinting finds its way to Nedved, unmarked in the area. The shot by the Czech Fury finds Campagnolo’s finger in the way.

Juventus’ attacks pay off in the 43rd minute: ball into the Reggina area to Amauri who manages to stretch while falling to the ground, shooting the ball straight to the back of the net making the score 2-0.

The second half begins with Juventus carrying on where they left off. Marchionni comes on for Camoranesi. Four minutes from the start a foul on Marchisio outside the area of Reggina is not whistled.

One minute later Brienza scores froma freekick but the referee disallows because he hadn’t yeat whistled. Brienza re-takes the freekick putting the ball inches high over the horizontal post.

In the 69th minute Giovinco comes on for Marchisio and is immediately involved in a Juventus attack. One minute later Sissoko wins a ball in the midfield, passes to Del Piero who in turn passes to Amauri who misses the ball which reaches Giovinco but the attacker fouls the defender.

The atomic ant makes himself felt. In the 72nd minute Juventus are awarded a penalty after a foul on Giovinco, dangerously into the area. Del Piero steps up and sends the ball to the back of the net for his personal 250th goal with the black and white shirt and the 4th for Juventus in the match.

In the 75th minute Ranieri substitutes a brilliant Amauri with Iaquinta. Seven minutes later Juve are again dangerous : Iaquinta into the area but the defence clears at the nick of time.

Great performance despite the conditions, camoranesi was brilliant for the time he was on the field. Del piero was never going to miss the penalty and good to see big Giorgio get a gol! Amauri clinical as usual and Nedved played very well, he set up camoranesi's gol and nearly scored himself.
Forza Palermo and Napoli! (But only for tommorow!)

Amauri's performance was odd for me. He did very well for his goal and worked his ass off, but he was just not in tune with the team. He was positioned poorly during most attacks and couldn't combine succesfully with anyone tonight.
Beh, the pizza sauce is not strong enough to eliminate the brazilian blood cells.
He's used to playing on sand, not on snow.

Juve played a very good game but I have to say I am dissappointed about the toothless Reggina. What a serious embarassment to Serie A. You don't see that shit in the Primera Division where even the bottom teams consists of players that can actually handle a football and works their asses off. Reggina looked a Serie C side tonight and they had already given up when the game started.

Anyway, we helped make them look bad and I am satisfied especially given how the turf was come second half. Sissoko what a fucking monsterous performance, easily the mom. Camoranesi, what can you say... goosebumps when he started working his magic and when he scored the first goal. It's been a while, grazie Camo. :touched:
Del Piero, wonderful and a wicked penalty execution. Giovinco came on and showed what he is good for. Defence, perfect all game.

Bring on... Lecce?
they aint that bad actually, this is the same team fought against the "mighty" intermerda and wasnt lose until the very last second 2 weeks ago. We have played good football tonight, just simply crashed them, physically and mentally

Welcome back il maestro Camoranesi. A great joy to watch the oldies do their magic. Nice & easy just like the doctor ordered. Sissoko & Camo get the mom.

OK, here's my ratings....

Not much to say here. I worried that the ref was being too lenient, and that we'd see our goal chances wasted on rough tackles in the box that he allowed. Thankfully some stellar play from our Camo-Neddy-DP veterans made all the difference in the first half and took this game away.

Manninger - 6.5 - Solid.

Grygera - 6 - Decent defensively. Not much in attack.

Legrottaglie - 6 - A decent day. But he makes me nervous with close calls he's sometimes on the wrong end of the ref's opinion on.

Chiellini - 7 - Got his chance to redeem his missed header in the first half with his goal in the second. A little imperfect on defense in the first half, but generally very solid throughout the match.

Molinaro - 5.5 - OK on defense. Added nothing in offense.

Camoranesi - 7.5 - Heroic after his injury. But pivotal in putting this match out of reach. Unlike the whiny, pouty Camo we've seen lately, he came back and fought hard on defense and offense. My MOM.

Sissoko - 7.5 - Complete match. Some of his best passing and offensive contribution in a Juve jersey. A aggressive and precise as a destroyer.

Marchisio - 6 - Didn't contribute a whole lot in a match where there were so many notable performances. But didn't disappoint for the most part.

Nedved - 7 - Viva Viagra.

Del Piero - 7 - Another great day from our creative captain.

Amauri - 6 - Struggled to make an impact for much of the match, but pulled a scrappy goal. A little too much time on the wings.

Subs:

Marchionni - 6 - Not particularly noteworthy. He was no Camo. But he didn't screw up what was a good thing going in the match.

Giovinco - 6.5 - Sharp and shifty even in the snow.

Iaquinta - 6 - A brief but decent outing.

Coach:

Ranieri - 6.5 - The team didn't suffer a let-down and capitalized well. The team was crisp throughout the match. Wish we saw Gio sooner, but otherwise little to complain about.

I voted for Camo because I felt he made the difference in the first half of the game and that was enough, Momo was also great but I think Camo deserves it for playing on with the injury and giving us a good head start before he was taken off.

Great game from everyone though and a I too really enjoyed watching it... We prob would have scored more if the conditions were not so bad at the end but it was cool to play in the snow. I thought they should have played with the red ball (like they used to when it snowed back in the day)
