tudor can be such an amazing player....
my friends were fascinated by his performances & lippi rates him higher viera...

the only thing i fear bout him is his reliability... due to his muscle problems he hasn't much match practise...

and u know that every error in defence can be crucial.......

but montero isn't in great shape either, so i don't know which to field in center defence together legro....

+ i would go for the 4-2-3-1 formation...

anybody knows about the starting line-up..?

I think we should play 3-5-2.. specially against roma..

--------------------------------buffon

---------------------------legro/tudor
-----------thuram--------------------------montero

-------------------tachi----------------davids/appiah

camoranesi-----------------------------------------zambro

-----------------------------nedved

--------------------------------------------------DP
----------------di vaio/trez

with this formation we will control the midfield well.. totti want have a chance against this crowded midfield.. plus.. it eassily can be switched to the usual 4-2-3-1..

so we play 3-5-2, till totti get injured.. :D then we switch to 4-2-3-1..
3-5-2? We never play 3-5-2. The best formation for this outing is the 4-3-1-2.

The problem is, Tachi's injured

I think we should play 3 DM's against a team like Roma, because they can hit us in attack devastatingly.

----------------Buffon

--Thuram---Legro--Montero---Zambro

-----Appiah---Tudor---Davids

----------Nedved----Del Piero

----------------Trezegol

What do you guys think? Some people might call it negative, but against Roma, surely we need some solidarity.
Hey, you copied my formation :groan::D Anyways, IMO it's not really a negative formation. Appiah will play on the right wing where he has been good and Davids will play on the left. Tudor's physical presence will hopefully stop Totti and Neddy and DP will pull the strings behind Trez.

We're scared because Roma's trident attack is frightening, their central defensive duo of Samuel and Chivu is unnerving and they're much fresher than we are. We've had a strenuos week with tough games against Chievo and Galatasary while Roma cruised to victory against Brescia and didn't have CL responsibility.

About the line-up, I don't think that anything's wrong with it. Tudor came on to replace Camoranesi in the Gala game and was very good, and I think that his physical presence and vision could be key to our success tonight. In the last two games Appiah has moved over to the right hand side when Camo has left the pitch and he has been very impressive. He'll get the nod tonight because he's defensively better than Camo. Davids for Tacchinardi is an obvious swap.

Yo all u Juventino fanz. I'm proud to be in this great Juventuz atmosphere. I've been a Juventino for 7 years(Once a Juventino always a Juventino). Relax about Roma's match, we've tackled harder matches with more injuries. We have a great chance of winning with Alex, Neddy, and Trez up front. Pannuci and Candela's absence are to our favour. Where can Ifind a site where I can download Juve goals for the current matches being played

Reading this thread I'm getting a little concerned. You guys gotta have a little more faith in our team. So Roma had a ltllle more time off so what because it does not always mean they will be sharper than us. Having time off while your opponent is constantly playing at a high level is not an advantage. I know this much.

Roma's trident attack?!! Come on guys really, I know Lippi won't do the same, but I'm he can dream up a little something that is much better. Roma seems confidence and that could be the start of their downfall.

How about Chivu? I like to see if Chivu will still be playing in Roma when the new year starts. Roma had all summer to find money, don't think they wll get by January. Other teams might want him, maybe Juventus or Real these two teams alone can raise his price out of Roma's reach.

yeah... its true that Roma might have an advantage and that might intimidate most of us but i dont quit agree that we must be that afraid to turn to an untried formation just for the sake of this match.. i'D say lets just play our game.

It's not an untried formation. Lippi is going to use the 4-3-1-2 formation which we had alot of success with last season. IMO this formation is more suited for the big games as we play with more balance and stability. When we play smaller teams like Empoli then we can use the 4-2-3-1 formation.

Here's the line-up:

Buffon
Thuram Legrottaglie Montero Zambrotta
Appiah Tudor Davids
Nedved
Trezeguet Del Piero

Guys, I have very good news. Miccoli scored two goals in a friendly on Friday so he should be fit for our next match which is against Reggina.

Fantasista,
I'm definately hoping that you are right and Lippi uses that formation with those players. I'm also anxious to see Tudor play on tv for once and seeing Davids and Appiah playing at the same time. I would also like to see Di Vaio come on for Trez and maybe Maresca coming on for Montero, but having Tudor move back in defense and Maresca in Tudor's place ( yeah, I know that last one is a long shot, Tudor in defense...nope)

I'm in agreement with everything you said. DV for Trez sounds good and so does Maresca for Montero. Anyways, I have to leave now. I'll be back after the match to share my views. Ciao.
