It's not an untried formation. Lippi is going to use the 4-3-1-2 formation which we had alot of success with last season. IMO this formation is more suited for the big games as we play with more balance and stability. When we play smaller teams like Empoli then we can use the 4-2-3-1 formation.

Here's the line-up:

Buffon
Thuram Legrottaglie Montero Zambrotta
Appiah Tudor Davids
Nedved
Trezeguet Del Piero
from what i heard

we will be using 4321

----------------------buffon

thuram-------legro--------montero-------zambrota

appiah--------------tudor---------------davids

--------nedved--------------delpiero

------------------trezeguet

the only rational to this tactic is to jammed up the midfield and to stop flowing game. if only we had tried this formation a number of times before it would be a good idea to use it to stop totti's ROma. but we just only used it for some part agaist Galatasaray.... with another creativity and flair source turned into a def mid, expect a low scoring game should we decide to use it... there is a lot of concern on the low number of balls come to trezege be4 with 3 backup s.. wonder how much could he get with a two..

Future still undecided, according to Baldini (Getty Images)
09/21/2003. AS Roma sports director Franco Baldini denied reports indicating Juve midfielder Edgar Davids has already agreed to join the Giallorossi on a free next season.

"Only Davids knows his future. I bet he won't reveal anything until January. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play for Roma next year," said Baldini.

Baldini then spoke about tonight's match between the two Serie A rivals.

"It's not a game like the others, it's as duel between Juve's power and Roma' fantasy. Let me make it clear, when I say power, I don't mean it in the dark sense of the word ," he said

Btw that formation doesn't look very good...Tudor will be outplayed by Totti and co, while Camoranesi is missing. Hope Lippi knows what he's doing.
