Storari - 6.5 - looked very calm, composed, and even secure in the air today (often a problem for him this season). made a key save in the first half.
Bonucci - 6 - shows nice technique for a defender, looked stable (as most look better beside Chiellini). too often goes for the long pass, and today none of them really came off that I noticed.
Chiellini - 6 - wasn't overly troubled today, but did what was necessary when it the need arose. can't ask for much more from a CB in this scenario.
De Ceglie - 5.5 - looked extremely shaky in the first half, out of position numerous times, gave the ball away excessively. had some nice crosses, and settled down in the second half, although this is partially due to Lecce's weakness going at him. not sure why they didn't exploit his flank more.
Grygera - 6 - commendable, looked sound defensively. doesn't offer too much going forward, however. perhaps on DN's instruction.
Aquilani - 7 - this guy's technique is a class above anyone else we have in the center. a remarkable difference, really. slick passing, a threat from range, very calm and confident on the ball.
Melo - 7.5 - tour de force, really. aggressive, tenacious in defense, great passing range. sparked a lot of positive movements. good attitude, too, I'm certain he's well-liked in the locker room. this is the player we paid for.
Marichisio - 6.5 - good first half, I liked what I saw, certainly. was responsible in holding his position, some good forays forward, nice bits of skill, as well (particularly going around his man in the first half, early on)
Krasic - 8 - what else can be said? our fundamental player, and easily the best transfer in Serie A, bar none. another couple of assists, amazing going forward down the flank or centrally, makes going by his marker look easy breezy. always putting in dangerous balls, non-stop energy (wait 'til he hits full fitness), not selfish as he's always looking to play others in. if anything, he might improve his finishing to become truly world class (not that he isn't as is, though)
Quagliarella - 6.5 - funny player, going for the overly difficult in simple situations, preferring to head the ball when it's two feet above the ground, instead of tapping in with his foot. he adds some flair to our game, certainly. a bit selfish, I find, however. sometimes gets a bit lost in the game, needs to impose himself more. hopefully we can have him gel with a regular strike partner.
Amauri - 5.5 - poor first half, for the most part. I'm a huge supporter of his, but it's a bit tough to always give him the benefit of the doubt, no matter how hard he works. entirely too much time spent muttering to himself and on the ground. he has fantastic control though, gives so much effort, it's hard to NOT want him to do well. he deserves a goal. found himself key to a few link up movements, particularly on one of our goals.
