Amauri is a good striker and deserves to start. The problem is the team dont put in any ecent crosses.

We need pace upfront, thats the thing I have noticed when Ale, Diego and Trez play how slow we are.

We need to play Gio eitherway, he has pace. I would play 1 striker with Gio, Diego and a suprise De Ceglie on the wing to bring in pace and crossing ability.

Also play Melo as a one out DM where he does his best work.

He can adapt very well to 4-4-2. Besides, he's not really sticking much in his role when we play the 4-3-1-2, he's playing defensively more and attacking when needed. He can do it playing 4-4-2, I'm sure.

If we're going to insist on playing this formation without Giovinco, then I say De Ceglie's a good choice (even if we don't have many other options).
